I am under the impression that the Modern Defense is refers to 1.e4 g6 and the Robatsch is the name for 1.d4 g6

Of course the two can easily transpose into each other but they are seperate openings are they not? --I 06:54, 23 May 2007 (UTC)

[edit] d4 and c4

The line 1.d4 d6 2.c4 g6 3.Nc3 Bg7 is also a Modern. Article currently doesn't mention it and it's impossible to reach from the diagram shown. ChessCreator (talk) 23:10, 24 February 2008 (UTC)
