Modi Rosenfeld, known professionally as Modi (born 1970 in Israel), is a stand-up comedian, actor, and cantor.

Modi has been selected numerous times to perform at the Montreal Comedy Festival and recently returned to appear with Tim Allen on the Just for Laughs Gala. He’s an established headliner at comedy clubs and colleges across America and is a regular fixture on the comedy scene in both New York and Los Angeles. Modi is one of the busiest comedians working today. He’s also one of the most diverse. Modi has entertained audiences at The John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts in Washington DC, opened for musical legend Neil Sedaka, toured the country with former Howard Stern crony Stuttering John Melendez, and hosted the Edgy Awards at Tribeca Film Center.
Modi has been featured in Time Out NY, NY Times, NY Post, Paper Magazine, Lifestyles Magazine, the Friars Epistle, We the People, and has been a contributor to “Fashion Police” in US Magazine.
It’s no wonder why Modi has taken his comedy internationally. In Amsterdam, he appeared on the hit television series, Comedy Factory. In Israel, Modi has done numerous benefit shows, and made guest appearances on Channel 10. Modi’s comedy is universal, transcending time, countries, and language barriers.

Modi was recently cast in the pilot for the Ben Stiller/Christine Taylor sitcom on CBS. Along with Modi, Jane Lynch was cast to play Christine’s mother. Ben Stiller is the executive producer and director of the project. MODI also has appeared on NBC’s Last Comic Standing and on HBO’s The Sopranos. He has made a number of appearances on Comedy Central shows, including Tough Crowd with Collin Quinn and The USO Live Tour. Modi was a regular cast member on Oxygen’s Can You Tell? His other television credits include NBC’s Friday Night Videos, BET’s 10th Anniversary of Comic View, METRO Channel’s New Joke City with Robert Klein, Comedy Factory on PCN, and Holland’s National Broadcasting Network. He has also appeared on both the Howard Stern radio and television specials on E! Entertainment Television.
Modi’s lead role in Waiting for Woody Allen was pivotal in winning the LA Film Festival. The film also had greater success at the Cannes Film Festival in 2004. The same Director, Michael Rainin, cast Modi as the lead in his new film Stand Up, which was released in the spring of 2006. A reviewer has described Modi as being “naturally funny, while exhuming a tremendous amount of energy on screen”. Modi’s other independent feature film credits include Rubout, Little Kings, and Connecting Dots. Modi has also shared the big screen with Chevy Chase and Brooke Shields in Rent-a-Husband. Look for him in the upcoming films Ira and Abby and A Perfect Christmas with Queen Latifah, Gabrielle Union, Morris Chestnutt, and Terrence Howard.
