Modern expressionism

Modern expressionism is an alternative term for Symbolism.[1] Visual artists described as modern expressionist include the South African Gerard Sekoto, whose work in the 1940s drew on Fauvism and Post-Impressionism,[2] and Marcus Antonius Jansen.[citation needed]
