Mod's Hair Company, Ltd

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Mod’s Hair Company, Ltd. is a leading hairdressing agency established in Paris[1].

In 1968, with the hands of Frederic et Guillaume Berard and four others, they established their own hairdressing agency in Paris to work for a magazine. They named their agency Mod’s Hair, with a meaning of wanting to give people a mod hairstyle.

Mod's Hair opened the first salon at Saint-Germain-des-Prés in Paris in 1974. With the help of a Japanese staff in the team, they succeeded in opening another salon in Harajuku Tokyo, Japan in 1978. Mod’s Hair was then scouted as the team in the Comme De Garcon fashion show. Their work grabbed the attention of famous designers such as Chanel and Yoji Yamamoto, who later on scouted Mod’s Hair in their team as well. Being now a renown hairdressing team, they wanted everybody else to get their hands on their products. In 1999, with the help of Unilever Trading Company in Japan, they released their line of “Mod’s Hair series”. This series include their hair care products and styling products. Their success was outstanding and resulted in opening a total of 125 salons in Asia, 108 in Japan alone, and 214 salons in Europe.
