High explosives lenses of the sort apparently in the primaries of modern nuclear weapons. "Cutaway models of 30-cm (top) and 10-cm (bottom) diameter plane-wave HE lenses. The larger lens shows colors similar to those commonly used for lenses of this kind." The colored area is the fast explosive, the interior white areas are the slow explosives.

(additional information) Per Plane Wave Generator Calculations, Pimbley, Mader, and Bowen, Los Alamos National Labs report LA-9119, January 1982, these are apparently the P-040 (smaller, cylindrical) and P-120 (larger, conical) model plane wave generator devices. That report provides detail characteristics and numerical and experimental modeling results for those two models and a similar P-081 model of intermediate size.
