[edit] Experimenting with Signatures
I see that you already know how to use the little {{insert page name here}} trick. If you want to add a custom signature that gets inserted automatically, do the following: (1) create a page called User:Mobile 01/mysig; (2) create the custom signature on that page, using whatever html you desire, with nothing else on that page, and save that page; (3) go to your "my preferences" tab (the one on the top of your page next to "my watchlist"), and put in {{User:Mobile 01/mysig}} in the space for Signature, check the 'raw signature' box directly below that, and save your preferences. Hiyas, just wanted to write and thank you for the star. I for one am glad and relieved that the whole sordid business is over. It had never been my intent to become involved, but well, I've probably already gone over it several times! As for the "Damsel in Distress," I think you were doing just fine on your own. However, on the WP, numbers make a difference. I did find it interesting that a majority of people constantly referred to you as a man. Yes, thank you. Much appreciated. Also, I wanted to e-mail you something about your userpage, but can't do it publicly. Would you consider enabling e-mail? I would suggest an anonymous service that you only use for Wikipedia. I'll explain why in private. Mobile 01, the oil that does it all, ja? :) Thanks for your note about the Firestone article. The complaint seems to be that certain editors are actually Firestone operatives (to overstate it) and are spinning the article. Since I don't know much about Firestone, other than they got in a fair amount of trouble, I don't think it's my place to dive into that edit war. Wahkeenah 02:07, 23 January 2007 (UTC)
- Oops, you're from Australia, so that comment might mean nothing. Mobil Oil has or used to have as one of its prime products, "Mobil 1", whose ad sang, "The oil that does it all", whatever that meant. Wahkeenah 02:22, 23 January 2007 (UTC)
- I understood the humour as we also have Mobil 1 here, we had a different slogan but I got the drift. My username actually has nothing to do with Mobil and was chosen purely by chance. I was signing up and trying to think of a username, I looked around my room and saw a sticker on my laptop which said "Centrino Mobile Technology No1 for Performance". tada!! It's a girl thing, I'm sure a guy would have a much better way of picking a username. ;-)
