[edit] Brookley Complex
Although this facilty seems to be called by many names, the Mobile Airport Authority operates the site as the "Brookley Complex", see Mobile Airport Authority for details. What are the thoughts on moving it to that? My initial wish was to create a Brookley Complex article, thinking that the Mobile Downtown Airport was just one facet of Brookley, but as I've done more research have realized that this is not so. I have plans for a major expansion to include the various aerospace and industrial companies, expand the history, touch on its status as a free-trade zone, and to include more on the site as a whole. I've left a few messages on contributor's talkpages for comment. -Altairisfar (talk) 06:27, 7 December 2007 (UTC)
- The FAA, in both the airport master record and airport diagram, still refers to this as Mobile Downtown Airport. The official website (brookleycomplex.com) is down for maintenance right now, but the title bar of that page includes both names: Brookley Complex, Downtown Airport Mobile-Alabama. So the article and infobox should retain both names for now. Also, recent articles in news sources refer to this as the Brookley Field Industrial Complex, so that name should probably be mentioned somewhere. -- Zyxw (talk) 13:46, 7 December 2007 (UTC)

- I see, and agree that the article and infobox should retain both names. I do think that the article would be better suited to be moved to Brookley Complex, but have created a redirect from that title for now. Altairisfartalk 21:01, 9 December 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Revisions
Started on planned revisions by adding new referenced material, corrected acreage from 1300 to 1700 with reference, added references to some existing info that was confirmed. Removed photo Image:mobile_alabama.jpg, which is a satellite photo of part of Mississippi, Mobile County, Baldwin County, Dauphin Island, and the Gulf of Mexico. If this type of photo is used it should be much more limited in scope and at least point out the city of Mobile and Brookley, which this photo did not do. Uploaded Brookley Complex logo with non-free fair use media rationale and added to infobox. More expansions of the article to come. Altairisfar (talk) 09:26, 7 December 2007 (UTC)
