This is a 3d plot of a one-sided surface (a mobius strip) distorted such that its boundary is a circle, demonstrating that such a surface can exist in 3d without self-intersection.

I made this image on my own computer by manually designing parametric equations and entering them into a plotting package.

I release this image to the world under GFDL
