[edit] Deleting archives proposal

Hi Moa3333. You can put your proposals at Wikipedia:Village pump (proposals). Don't forget to put the page on your watchlist, as people will answer your question on the same page (not on your talk page). Good work on computer-related articles. Keep it up! utcursch 07:46, Jan 10, 2005 (UTC)

If you delete whole paragraphs as you did on Free/Libre Open Source Software, please make sure to add a descriptive edit summary. Thanks.Rl 07:11, 12 Feb 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Neutral Point of View

Hi Moa3333, by now you've no doubt had time to explore Wikipedia a little. I couldn't help but notice that List of revision control software clashes with the rest of the articles on the site. I suggest reading WP:NPOV, our Neutral Point of View policy that governs the way the encyclopedia is put together. It'll help you write articles in the future that don't need as much editing by other people. Thanks, silsor 03:23, Apr 24, 2005 (UTC)

My philosophy is to add anything when there is no information, with the goal to gather some information into a page, then, once the page gets complete and the main ideas are better shaped to reduce the page and keep only the important parts. Moa3333 00:01, May 2, 2005 (UTC)

[edit] ERP

Since you have edited Enterprise resource planning, here is a courtesy notification that I have updated the article, and its talk page, since your last activity there. I have tried to repair what I view as an unfortunate WP:POV, or historical bias, but I still need to address a better way to present information about commercial software, open source, and homebrew. Many facts about ERP are true in one of these three main areas, but totally wrong for the others.

I asked about disadvantages style in December 23 section of Help Desk whose first response cautioned risk of WP:NPOV. There is a potential need to show several commonplace WP:POV that can otherwise risk article contamination, if not acknowledged. User:AlMac|(talk) 22:36, 23 December 2005 (UTC)

[edit] About Wikisolutions

Hi, moa3333.

I would like to correspond with you on the WikiSolutions, or the HowTo wiki in Wikicities.

The site is not progressing, and I think that's because it's structure or something doesn't allow to represent the knowledge properly. Maybe we should think more about how to make that project going.

To make long engineering projects is not very convenient, because they require quite a lot of work. I think it should be more like recipies, how to use methods, or tools.

The creation of the tools is much more complicated than their usage, and much less frequent activity, so .. I don't say that we would not explain how to create the tools, but in order to start the project up, we might need to get some popularity and people. And popular a site will be, when it will give solutions.

I don't know about what we could start writing, and if the harmful things like harmful chemicals and their production (say, ethanol), would be of interest, but the way is to start writing about USING THE TOOLS to make things that people mostly need. That is, adapt to the market of the knowledge. I think this is the way we could boost the popularity of the WikiSolutions or HowTo wikicity.

See [1].

there is a reply for you on [2]. (Inyuki)

[edit] Origin of Romanians

I think it would be better if you discuss in the talk page before making major changes... I don't think your changes make the article either neutral or factually accurate. bogdan 23:40, 19 February 2006 (UTC)

[edit] 999999

I have to say, it's a good thing you didn't make the millionth article. That would be sort of stupid... "The Wikimedia Foundation announced today the creation of the 1,000,000th article in the English language edition of Wikipedia, which was deleted within two minutes because people didn't like it." Less boring than Jordanhill, maybe. Anyway, congratulations! For... something. (Insert article here). Twilight Realm 04:20, 3 March 2006 (UTC)

Oh, and for the record, you rewrote the article, not created it. Twilight Realm 04:26, 3 March 2006 (UTC)
The article One million articles did not exited when i created it (i dont' know if someoen else created it two days earlier and was deleted in the meantime...) Moa3333 19:01, 3 March 2006 (UTC)
That's true! the article was deleted when i created it! My article was then deleted again, then someone undeleted the hole... After the hole page was undeleted, the old article has appeared. And now the page is in deletion process again with votes. Moa3333 19:07, 3 March 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Thanks!

Bad luck with the 999999, but you can see why it happened, I'm sure! Thanks for your encouragement! Bonne chance! (or is it bon? hmmm...) Nach0king 00:19, 2 March 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Wal-Mart

Here's an article in English about the alleged Wal-Mart manipulation. How is your proposed article coming?--Beth Wellington 06:24, 9 June 2006 (UTC)

No time to do it. Moa3333 18:39, 30 January 2007 (UTC)

[edit] List of vocabulary replacements from latin in modern languages

What an interesting idea for a page. I do have some questions/gripes, however. I think the explanation of what this page is intended to illustrate definitely needs to be longer and and more precise. Also, some of the words taht are "replacements" are really just a changed form of the Latin etymon. There are many examples, but canere > cantar stood out to me initially. Cantat is just from the participle (cantus) and cantare existed in Latin (probably in Late Latin, however, but I can't be certain offhand). Also, Spanish, Portuguese, and Italian should be represented as well. I really like the Germanic loanwords section. List of Spanish words of Germanic origin could be very helpful in expanding this section. I think this page needs to have a more precise and thorough introduction, it nees to have better wikilinking, and it needs to be renamed. I'm not sure what it should be named, but the current title is long and clumsy. A table format may also be a good idea. I will work on some of these things today. This could become a really good page.--Hraefen 19:10, 9 June 2006 (UTC)

I am just now thinking there are so many words from latin (more than 10.000 in all latin languages). So it should only be about more strange words, and the most intresting ones. Moa3333 20:31, 6 July 2006 (UTC)
  • I think that if we narrow the focus and have stricter criteria, the length can remain manageable. We should get rid of the examples of the type [Spanish vino < Latin vinum] and only document cases like [Spanish perro replaced Latin canis]. I think the perro-type examples are very interesting. What do ya think?--Hraefen Talk 01:03, 7 July 2006 (UTC)
Well, we can do that. We can also show where latin words dissapeared in some languages but not in the others. Or how they changed. In romanian head is cap from latin word caput' and in french head is tete and chef means boss in french instead. This are also intresting situations. Moa3333 21:16, 16 July 2006 (UTC)
  • I see what you're saying. The caput' > chef type of example is notable because of considerable semantic shift. But I think we can bioth agree that the [Spanish vino < Latin vinum] type examples are not very interesting, enlightening or uncommon. I will trim these examples out in the near future. We should just focus on getting more examples and we can worry about organization later. We should, however, add some references.--Hraefen Talk 18:40, 18 July 2006 (UTC)
I use the dictionary that explains the romanian language (the DEX). I am also a bilingual french and romanian. Moa3333 14:18, 19 August 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Romanian leu

Hello. I just wanted to tell you that your resent move of the article Romanian leu to “Leu (currency)” has been reverted. You probably did not know, but the current form of the article name is that that has been agreed upon at WikiProject Numismatics. I just wanted to let you know so there would not be any more confusion. – Zntrip 01:50, 23 February 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Solutions provider

I have added a "{{prod}}" template to the article Solutions provider, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but I don't believe it satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and I've explained why in the deletion notice (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). You may contest the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summary or on its talk page. Also, please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Even though removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, the article may still be deleted if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria or it can be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. Not claiming you are responsible for that article, but I'm notifying named editors who have any semi-major history with the article; much of the text seems to be the work of IP addresses and the history is quite messy. - Smerdis of Tlön 15:42, 3 May 2007 (UTC)
