It was constructed in 1935 during the reign of the last Nizam, Mir Osman Ali Khan. It was named after his second son Moazzam Jah.
This building is a great landmark of Hyderabad even today and the main landmark is built entirely in stone.

Apart from the historic Moazzamjahi Market, there are lots of shops around.
There is a popular bakery called as Karachi bakery in this suburb, popular for its Dil khush and fruit biscuits.
