Moammar Rana

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Moammer Rana (Urdu: معمر رانا) aka Momi (Urdu: مومی) is an actor from Pakistan's Lahore based film industry called "Lollywood".. He tasted super stardom early in his career with three block busters including Deewane Tere Pyar Ke, Choorian and Nikki Jai Haan it seemed that he had the proverbial success on the platter – but sadly enough he faced the fall soon enough. There were even times when he was written off and with Shaan back as the only sole hero on the front, Momi was facing a lot of problems. Yeh Dil Aap Ka Huwa gave Momi the break that he was waiting since his last success. This film has again brought Momi back into business and now he is standing above Shaan in every term. Having given a hatrick of successes initially, his list of flops is also unending, including Jisay Da Mola, Zor, Mohlat, Chupke Chupke, Pal Do Pal, Mehndi Wale Hath, Kon Bane Ga Crore Pati and even much hyped but delayed Syed Noor film Dil Deewana Hai and Shehzad Rafique’s Rukhsati. But now having tasted success in the form of Yeh Dil Aap Ka Huwa he is the main choice of all the mainstream directors and producers. His recent film Koi Tujh Sa Kahan has had a very successful theatrical run, and is now ready for its DVD release. He recently appeared in a Bollywood movie with Mahima Chaudhry and Jackie Shroff called Dobara in 2004.

He also worked in a TV drama Dil, Diya, Dehleez (drama).
