MLB 2006 is a baseball video game for the Playstation 2 and PlayStation Portable. It was preceded by MLB 2005, and succeeded by MLB '06: The Show. Vladimir Guerrero was featured on the cover of the game. The game takes place in the 2005 MLB season, still using the tradition of "last year displayed", such as "Madden NFL 2005-06" listed as Madden 2006. However, the MLB 2005 season ended in 2005. MLB '06 takes place in 2006, marking the change to a more reasonable naming system.
