Hi Mjefm,
Thank you for your very valuable contributions to Wikipedia, and a very warm welcome to the community! We're always grateful to have new people joining in and contributing with improvements to the encyclopedia. Here are a few suggestions to work your way around:
- Do have a look at The five pillars of Wikipedia
- I'm sure the tutorial will be of great help, as will reading How to edit a page
- The Manual of Style has tips on making Wikipedia articles look consistent
- You might also like to read How to write a great article and maybe the picture tutorial if you're interested in adding images to your articles
- The help page contains loads of, well, helpful information
I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! Do remember to sign your name on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~), which will automatically produce your name and the datestamp. If you have any questions, check out Wikipedia:Where to ask a question or feel free to contact me.
Again, welcome! It's great to have you. Happy editing! -Aabha (talk) 13:33, 22 December 2005 (UTC)
[edit] Systems Designer
I'm afraid it's not quite correct to say that Systems Designer is a political party. In 1983, there was no system of registration of political parties in Britain and anyone could put any description on their ballot paper - including making up a "Party" on the spot of which they were the only member. The original function of the "Description" section was for candidates to list their occupations and these were the examples given of how to fill in a nomination paper (it was not explained that whatever was put in the section would be printed on the ballot paper). [edit] Arctic Monkeys
Hi - just wondering on what basis you added "Mardy Bum" as the third single from the Arctic Monkeys? Google News searches for Arctic Monkeys or Mardy Bum do not produce any evidence of this claim... I must say I'm curious as to your source of information.
Anyway, please see the WikiProject for Albums/Bands/Singles as to how Discography paragraphs should be set out. I see you've done similar edits on other band pages... namely The Cribs and Maxïmo Park]... perhaps you could sort out the pages to conform to the accepted standards?
Cheers, Deano (Talk) 22:56, 9 February 2006 (UTC)
-
- Hi again, I noticed you have made some alterations to the Arctic Monkeys page again - principally the discography section. Firstly, on what basis can you justify the claim of "A View From the Afternoon" being the next single? You earlier suggested that the third single would be "Mardy Bum"... once again there is no evidence of your claim being true (such as the Google News search). Furthermore, Wikipedia:WikiProject Songs and its related WikiProjects set out the standard for how names related to music should be set out - you should consider reading it. I have reverted your edits accordingly, and I would also take the opportunity to recommend using edit summaries when you edit a page - they really help others to see what you have done, and more importantly, why.
- Thanks for your quick response and the link provided. Unfortunately, while this is a reference of sorts, the fact that it has not been reported in any notable media source, leave alone confirmation from the band, means that it cannot be added to Wikipedia at present. If/when confirmed, feel free to add it. Cheers, DJR (Talk) 22:54, 2 March 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Redirects
On 30-Mar, you created a "soft" redirect from World Cup goalscorers to World Cup Goalscorers. You should do a real redirect in cases like this. The instructions for how are at Wikipedia:Redirect. I've fixed this one, but if you need help in the future, let me know. Thanks! -- JLaTondre 16:11, 2 April 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Book
The book you found the chart positions in sounds pretty good and comprehensive
are you a Gomez fan?

[edit] Héctor Pineda
Hi there! Just wanted to ask you to put at least some categories to the articles you create, otherwise it makes it almost imposible to be aware of them. (unless by chance). Thanks, and good wiking! Mariano(t/c) 07:04, 31 May 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Argentina National Team
Why did you revert all those changes? You should be more careful since you undid a lot of good edits... I reverted to avoid problems.
Thanks

- Please stop adding the "Current Players" Section to the article. It is not factual and will be reverted. Use talk instead. Thanks Sebastian Kessel Talk 18:26, 19 July 2006 (UTC)
[edit] 100 Greatest Songs Ever
Hello! I have deleted this article because it is a) infringing the copyright of the publishers of Q magazine as it is their list; b) because it is entirely subjective and Wikipedia as a policy of observing a neutral point of view in articles and c) a recent similar case, Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/KROQ Top 106.7 Countdown of 1980, was deleted in its entirety for similar reasons. Regards, (aeropagitica) 14:54, 1 September 2006 (UTC)
[edit] link to bundesliga
Hello, when you want to link to the article about the Bundesliga, please do not link to Bundesliga, as that is a disambiguation page (which nothing should be linked to). Instead link to the one of the options found on that page such as Bundesliga (football) by writing out [[Bundesliga (football)|Budesliga]]. Regards, Jeff3000 20:48, 16 September 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Wikiproject:Italian Football
Hi ya. I see you add to Italian Football articles from time to time. Just wondering if you want to check out Wikipedia:Italian Football. We are just hoping to organise our efforts towards improving articles better. If you want to sign up just put your name down under participants on the project. You can do as much or as little work as you like and any ideas on improving pages would be great. Niall123 19:13, 7 October 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Serie A deletion
You better have a look at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/La Liga 2006/2007 results December 2006. Basically a non footballing wikipedian has nominated the detailed results sections of Serie A and La Liga for deletion. I'm personally totally against them being deleted. I've voted to keep the pages and I just thought I'd highlight this as you might want to vote either way on this. Thanks Niall123 18:38, 28 December 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Goalscorers articles deleted
Hi, I just wanted to tell you that the articles were deleted and that I'm taking this to the Deletition Review to get it back, because this consensus that was reached was made soleley by admins which grouped together to get these articles deleted. By the way, I am the IP editor of the Premier League goalscorers, it is just that my IP changes.Thanks. 190.40.185.235 14:28, 3 January 2007 (UTC)
- Then I will give you respecful notice that if the DRV comes out with a deletion endorsed, then you will be blocked for distruption, and for trying to make a point. Consider this a pre-emptive warning. If you wish to leave, that is your right. I will not be blackmailed. -Royalguard11(Talk·Desk·Review Me!) 00:52, 5 January 2007 (UTC)

What hapens if France wins by 42-19 and therefore has the same Points and Points difference than Ireland ? —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 82.240.207.81 (talk) 17:10, 17 March 2007 (UTC).
After points difference it is tries scored, not points scored. Mjefm 17:14, 17 March 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Copa America 2007 & goal template
Hello, I noticed that you removed the template from the Copa America 2007 article. I was hoping to use that template as it promotes consistency in format and appearance, but wanted to understand if there was an important reason for removing it. If not, I'd like to reapply it. Best regards. Jogurney 12:52, 27 June 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Copa América 2007
Please don't edit until the game has ended, every edit made during the game takes more space in the Wikipedia servers. Wait till the end of the game to do one single edit with all the info.
I ask you to check Wikipedia:Editor_assistance/Requests#Editing live events for more info. Garavello 23:39, 27 June 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Dinko Dermendzhiev -> Dinko Dermendjiev
Hi! You made this move, but:
- In Bulgaria they're known also as Dermendzhiev and Bozhinov. Newspapers transliterated their names this way, not Bulgaria.
- Wikipedia says that you should prefer the Official Bulgarian Romanization system for Bulgarian cyrillic script (it's also the standard for the English language), and in that system ж is transliterated as zh.
- In last EC Bojinov wore a jersey with "Bozhinov" written on his back.
So, I think that this issue should be discussed before making some edit. It's a controversy that keep existing (Bozhinov article is titled "Valeri Bojinov"...). --necronudist 09:45, 4 September 2007 (UTC)
[edit] 2007 Tri Nations Series
The 2007 Tri Nations Series article received heavy editing today by new/unregistered users, which I noticed at WikiRage.com. The article may benefit from a good review. According to Wikipedia Page History Statistics, you are one of the top contributors to that page. If you have the time, would you please read over the article and make any necessary changes. Thanks. -- Jreferee (Talk) 08:32, 16 September 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Naming convention for sports teams
Back in June, you added a naming convention for sports teams to Wikipedia:Naming conventions. Several users have stated that this occurred without any prior discussion. I don't know whether this is true, hence this message. There are several disputes (some are ongoing, some have died down) related to the naming of articles about sports teams, and the naming convention you added plays a role in those disputes. You might want to read the following discussions:
- Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Football#Naming conventions and club names
- Wikipedia talk:Naming conventions#Sports teams
- Wikipedia:Administrators' noticeboard/Incidents#FC Steaua Bucureşti and Aecis
- User talk:Neil#FC Steaua Bucureşti
- User talk:Aecis#Steaua Bucharest
I would appreciate it if you'd join those discussions, and share your point of view with us. It might clarify a lot, and it might help us understand the situation better. AecisBrievenbus 01:02, 14 November 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Endashes
Hi there. Would you mind explaining why you keep replacing the endashes in the 2008 Africa Cup of Nations article with regular hyphens? The reason for using endashes is explained in detail at WP:DASH, so please don't use regular hyphens any more. – PeeJay 18:53, 21 January 2008 (UTC)
- Yet another case for the superiority of PCs over Macs :D Ok, what would happen if I manually replace the – code with proper endashes? – PeeJay 11:21, 22 January 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Sporting Clube de Portugal
I would like to remind you that the club's name is, in fact, Sporting Clube de Portugal. Nowhere in that name do the words "Lisbon" or "Lisboa" appear. Therefore, to refer to the club as "Sporting Lisbon" is a misnomer. – PeeJay 22:23, 21 February 2008 (UTC)
- The difference between Sporting CP and all the clubs you mentioned is that "Braga" and "Gijon" both appear in the official names of their respective clubs, while "Moscow" appears on the badge of FK Dinamo (FC Dynamo). – PeeJay 08:26, 22 February 2008 (UTC)
[edit] AfD nomination of UEFA Euro 2008 warm-up matches
An editor has nominated UEFA Euro 2008 warm-up matches, an article on which you have worked or that you created, for deletion. We appreciate your contributions, but the nominator doesn't believe that the article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion and has explained why in his/her nomination (see also "What Wikipedia is not").
Your opinions on whether the article meets inclusion criteria and what should be done with the article are welcome; please participate in the discussion by adding your comments at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/UEFA Euro 2008 warm-up matches and please be sure to sign your comments with four tildes (~~~~).
You may also edit the article during the discussion to improve it but should not remove the articles for deletion template from the top of the article; such removal will not end the deletion debate. Thank you. BJBot (talk) 19:59, 7 March 2008 (UTC)
[edit] UEFA Champions League 2007-08
First, the article about Colin Kazim-Richards is located at Colin Kazim-Richards, not Colin Kâzım-Richards. Second, the goal was scored in the 65th minute. Third, the own goal parameter of the {{goal}} template is there for a reason. Please use it. – PeeJay 21:19, 2 April 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Goal times
Well, I haven't seen the match, but I guess time (particularly seconds) may vary on different broadcasts. I found the video of the goal here; it that clearly shows that Arshavin's goal was scored about 6 seconds into the 19th minute. So, I think that UEFA report is not wrong at all. [edit] football facts and stats
I apologize for the intrusion. You have added some excellent submissions and edits to wikipedia, and I wanted to see if you were interested in managing history and statistics on another website, perhaps for pay. Again, sorry for the solicitation, but this might be a good opportunity for you - please let me know if you have any interest in exploring.
