Miyoshi Yoshikata (1527?-1562) was a retainer beneath the clan of Miyoshi throughout the latter Sengoku Period of Feudal Japan. Yoshitaka was respectively a younger brother to Miyoshi Chokei and was perhaps better known by his relatives and comrades alike as Jikkyu. Having held a domain within Awa province of the Shikoku islands, Yoshikata consistently gave support to his elder brother at many variable intervals, who took up residence in Settsu province as the Miyoshi's ruling head. Even though regarded by many as a figure of absolute capability to the Miyoshi, Yoshikata would unfortunately disappear from the pages of history by 1562 out of un-foreseen circumstance, leading others to consider the possibility that Matsunaga Hisahide had taken the former's life by some subtle and decisive means.
