Miyoshi, Chiba

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Miyoshi (三芳村; -mura) was a village located in Awa District, Chiba, Japan.

As of 2003, the village had an estimated population of 4,689 and a density of 138.24 persons per km². The total area was 33.92 km².

Due to the decreasing rural population in Japan, in March 20, 2006, the municipalities of Tomiura, Tomiyama, Miyoshi, Shirahama, Chikura, Maruyama and Wada (all from Awa District) merged to form the city of Minamiboso. Miyoshi has become just a district within the larger municipality.
