Mixopterus is a genus of a prehistoric eurypterid. It had a possibly venomous telson which is thought to have hung above the eurypterid's head, like a modern day scorpion. It possibly resembles a Megalograptus. Like Megalograptus, Mixopterus had long spines or possibly hairs on their arms.
