Removal of essays from your userpage

I have removed the essays from your userpage, which are a violation of copyright. Moreover, your userpage is not the place to publish political polemics, particularly racist ones, regardless of their copyright status. Please read Wikipedia:Userpage and do not continue to use Wikipedia to promote political causes. --Sam Blanning(talk) 03:08, 13 November 2006 (UTC)

You said the essays on my userpage are a violation of copyright. Isn't his userpage a violation of copypight??? He has the banner of a website in his userpage, and he has a large quote by Malcom X! Why am I not allowed to quote David Lane????? There is no freedom of speech in Wikipedia... Mitsos 20:28, 17 November 2006 (UTC)
Those quotes are probably fair use in that context, vastly different to the extent to which you have copied essays. The image you refer to is released under the GFDL. You're quite right; there is no freedom of speech here. This is an encyclopaedia, not an experiment in anarchy. If you continue to violate copyright and userpage policy, you will be blocked. --Sam Blanning(talk) 20:58, 17 November 2006 (UTC)
So, the Malcom X quote is "fair use". Why isn't the David Lane quote "fair use"? What is that "vast difference"? Can you explain me? He is advertising a site, why can't I advertise a site against Turkey in Europe?? I have only kept those essays. Mitsos 21:04, 17 November 2006 (UTC)
Please keep this conversation in one place by replying on this page.
Well, for a start, he follows up the quote with some discussion of it. For another, the quote and the context is in isn't overtly offensive to most people. We are not having a discussion where you try to justify hosting Neo-Nazi essays as a legitimate use of the userpage Wikimedia provides to you, end of story. --Sam Blanning(talk) 21:14, 17 November 2006 (UTC)

So, the problem with "my" essays is that they are not "politically correct" right? What else is wrong with "neo-nazi essays"? "the quote and the context is in isn't overtly offensive to most people." It is "overtly offensive" to me. Anyway, since many other Wikipedians have essays in their userpage, you don't have the right to remove the essays from my userpage just because you don't agree with them. Mitsos 21:23, 17 November 2006 (UTC)

I already told you that this is not a forum for unregulated free speech, so trotting out tediously over-used political insults like "politically correct" isn't going to make any impression on me. The non-negotiable part is copyright. The fact that they're offensive to most of the community you're part of is secondary. --Sam Blanning(talk) 21:30, 17 November 2006 (UTC)

I 've already asked: why the David Lane quote can't be considered "fair use"? About "No to Turkey" section, I 'm advertising a site just like he does, so I don't think there is a problem. Mitsos 21:36, 17 November 2006 (UTC)

To be honest, I'm not interested in defending his userpage. If you like you can ask on WP:ANI and see whether they consider it acceptable, but I'm not going to remove stuff from that userpage just to make you happy. --Sam Blanning(talk) 22:03, 17 November 2006 (UTC)

RE Your comments on my talk page

I don't want you blocked so desperately. I'm acting as advocate for spylab, and he has asked me to help him compose an RfC. Bobby 12:18, 27 November 2006 (UTC)

  • It's not so much about whether or not he's "right" or you're "right". As an advocate, I volunteer to help editor's with any problems they run into while using wikipedia. Spylab came to me asking for help, so I'm going to help him. Bobby 14:40, 27 November 2006 (UTC)
    • The subpage you refer to is being used to compose an RfC. We are merely compiling examples (taken directly from your contribs) which seem to stray frightfully close to violating various aspects of WP policy. We have no obligation to stay within the confines of the Hrisi Avgi article while doing this. While it may seem accusatory, please keep in mind that every diff shown on the page is an actual edit made by you. As such, I would encourage you to read through them and see if there is any truth to Spylab's case against you. As to the second part of your question, I will simply say that Spylab is disengaging (part of the DR process) from you in order to try and avoid exchanges that may be uncivil or unproductive. He feels as if he has already made his views heard by you, and now wishes to allow for greater community input. Bobby 14:22, 28 November 2006 (UTC)
      • You have only been blocked for personal attacks once (which only covered one of the personal attacks cited). As to the other posts, many of them violate NPOV and others come close to it. Some use misleading edit summaries (which goes against the policy on edit summaries). Others are just disruptive, or failing to assume good faith. If you do not see how these edits run askew to WP policy, I would encourage you to head over to WP:WP and spend some time browsing through the various pages. Bobby 15:08, 28 November 2006 (UTC)
        • I can't really say when it will end. You can always apply for unprotection on the Admin Noticeboard. Bobby 16:24, 1 December 2006 (UTC)

Your edit to Incident at Tarlis

Your recent edit to Incident at Tarlis (diff) was reverted by an automated bot that attempts to recognize and repair vandalism to Wikipedia articles. Blanking a page does not delete it. If you think the article is no good, you should put {{subst:afd}} at the top then follow the instructions. — CharlotteWebb 12:43, 30 November 2006 (UTC)

Mitsos, blanking an article on an alleged Greek war crime seems inconsistent to me, considering your tooth and nail involvement to preserve every half-baked allegation in Allied war crimes during World War II. Incident at Tarlis does have a source, despite your edit summary saying the contrary, but I agree the source needs to be translated to English and more sources need to be found. However, the article is scarcely a day old, and a lot of work seems to have gone into it. You yourself helped set the standard for verifiability very low when it comes to war crimes. Now you should live with it. Why don't you quit revert-warring with the anti-vandal bot and give the article a chance? And no more lies in the edit summaries. I can tolerate your stupid POV, but dishonesty makes it almost impossible to work together. Haber 14:36, 30 November 2006 (UTC)

I wasn't lying. The source does not seems to be verifiable, I mean it doesn't even have a ISBN! Mitsos 16:56, 30 November 2006 (UTC)

It seems to me that a reasonable contributor would call that unverifiable, or poorly sourced, and try to track down the source or find better ones. Blanking an important article less than 24 hours after creation, with a false comment in the edit summary, does not improve the encyclopedia. Haber 22:48, 30 November 2006 (UTC)

Re:Article protection

Okay, Steel359 unprotected the article. It's usually the responsibility of the users involved in the edit war to make a request for page unprotection when the dispute has been resolved. Anyway, hopefully everything will work out now, and there will be no problems. =) Nishkid64 14:23, 3 December 2006 (UTC)

Blocked

You have been blocked for 31 hours for edit warring on Hrisi Avgi. -- Steel 19:44, 3 December 2006 (UTC)

This blocked user (block log | autoblocks | rangeblocks | unblock | contribs | deleted contribs) has asked to be unblocked, but an administrator has reviewed and declined this request. Other administrators may also review this block, but should not override the decision without good reason (see the blocking policy). Do not remove this unblock request while you are blocked.

Request reason: "I request to be unblocked because I wasn't the one who started edit-waring. User:Spylab should have been blocked, not me."

Decline reason: "No. You were edit warring. You are blocked. It's that simple. 1ne 19:55, 3 December 2006 (UTC)"

Please make any further unblock requests by using the {{unblock}} template. However, abuse of the template may result in your talk page being protected.

Then I request protection for Hrisi Avgi and/or blocking User:Spylab. Mitsos 19:57, 3 December 2006 (UTC)

He wasn't edit warring. He was trying to undo some of the harm you were doing. And the article doesn't need to be protected - you are the problem, not it. --SandyDancer 20:01, 3 December 2006 (UTC)

It's the other way round. I was trying to undo the harm he was doing. Mitsos 20:46, 4 December 2006 (UTC)

In what way? What was harmful? His efforts to remove unsourced statements or statement based on unreliable sources? His efforts to improve the dreadful standard of English throughout the article? --SandyDancer 21:08, 4 December 2006 (UTC)

As you can see here Spylab vandalised the article by blanking a large part of it. He also added 2 unjustifiable disputed tags while there was already one. Mitsos 11:36, 5 December 2006 (UTC)

No. That wasn't vandalism. He moved one section, and deleted a load of quotes which frankly don't need to be in there. --SandyDancer 12:11, 5 December 2006 (UTC)

Don't need to be there???????? If all Wikipedians were like you, all articles would be stubs. Btw, he later re-added the quotes, because he saw there were neccesary. The main dispute was over the disputed tags. Mitsos 12:22, 5 December 2006 (UTC)

Nonsense. I am just wary of disruptive users trying to use Wikipedia is soapbox --SandyDancer 11:40, 6 December 2006 (UTC)

Problems on your talk Page

Hi Mitsos. Despite my views on your behavior on article pages, I would never wish to see you harrassed. The edits by the anon ips and users with a 77777 trend constitute direct personal attacks and should be dealt with. I would suggest that you head over to the Admin's Noticeboard and get some help dealing with this issue.

Also, please do not edit other user's comments on your RfC. Doing so puts you in an incredibly bad light and flies directly in the face of the RfC process. Thank you, and good luck with the vandals. Bobby 14:13, 8 December 2006 (UTC)

On my talk page you said:
I haven't edited other user's comments on the RfC.
I beg to differ. The RfC process will go on for a while so that many individuals have the chance to drop in and share their thoughts on your actions. Please keep in mind that an RfC is not a disciplinary action. It is merely a chance for you to see what other users have to say about your conduct. I would hope that you come away from the RfC with a new attitude towards unbiased and verifiable edits. Bobby 16:58, 8 December 2006 (UTC)

It happened during an edit conflict, as I said on the RfC. Mitsos 17:05, 8 December 2006 (UTC)

Please, are you going to fix the problem as I requested above? It's a question of WP's reliability. Thank you Mitsos 09:34, 9 December 2006 (UTC)

OK, I think it's fixed now – Gurch 09:51, 9 December 2006 (UTC)

I 'm sorry to annoy you again, but you placed the text in the wrong order. The paragraph you added goes together with the last sentence in the next paragraph, and it goes after the paragraph that appears next in the article as ot is now. Go to the article's history and see how it was before. Thanks Mitsos 10:11, 9 December 2006 (UTC)

Ah, so I did. Sorry about that. I'm pretty sure it's fixed this time – Gurch 10:21, 9 December 2006 (UTC)

Instead of making a request, I 'm telling it to you. The last image in the Hrisi Avgi article is a cover of Hrisi Avgi's newspaper. Can you please write that it contains a quote by Ezra Pound (which is true). Thanks Mitsos 12:48, 9 December 2006 (UTC)

I think it's probably best to wait until the page is unprotected again before making any more edits. Administrators are not usually supposed to edit articles that are protected because of editing disputes, as this one is, except to remove obvious vandalism. See the protection policy. I've made an exception to restore text that seemed to have been accidentally removed, but I'm not going to add any new content while the page is protected. You can try asking someone else, but I imagine you'll get the same answer; sorry – Gurch 13:39, 9 December 2006 (UTC)

Haven't you seen my message? Mitsos 13:09, 14 December 2006 (UTC)

Yes, and as I said before, it's against policy for me to introduce new content of any sort to an article while it's protected, even though I have the capability to do so. If you've resolved your dispute with the user whom you were edit warring with, and are confident that you'll be able to avoid starting again, then it's time the page was unprotected, at which point you can make the edits you're requesting yourself. You can request unprotection at WP:RFPP. Please remember that you have been blocked before for edit warring, incivility and block evasion, and that a repeat of any of those things is likely to result in a longer block – Gurch 13:28, 14 December 2006 (UTC)

-- Steel 13:20, 26 December 2006 (UTC)

Maybe I have been a little uncivil (in the second edit), but my main problem is that SandyDancer who was also edit-waring wasn't blocked. Also, mind that when I reverted him, I explained why in the talkpage (and his talkpage). All I want is to improve the article, but no good-faithed discussion can be made with SandyDancer. Mitsos 13:24, 26 December 2006 (UTC)

OK, to honest, I got angry because he said that the content he was removing wasn't covered by the sources. But he can't be aware of what the sources say because he can't read Greek!!! Mitsos 13:27, 26 December 2006 (UTC)

That's a total misrepresentation of what happened - I will assume its a misunderstanding rather than twisting the facts in an attempt to cast me in a poor light, however. I wasn't removing content. Look at the diffs for my edits. I was removing your POV qualifiers and statements, mainly, and then restoringsourced text you deleted.
I'm not edit warring, Mitsos. If I was I would have been banned too. You refuse to work in a cooperative manner. I explain my actions and even in the face of your extreme provocation and my own frustration I try and maintain a civil tone. Just because you don't like what I do, doesn't make me wrong. --SandyDancer 15:01, 26 December 2006 (UTC)

I have restored the text myself, in the right position. You did removed all references to "left-wing" people, which is vandalism. I 've made a compromise, and I hope you won't revert me again. Mitsos 15:06, 26 December 2006 (UTC)

Removing expressions of your personal point of view is not vandalism and you suggesting that it is is completely unacceptable. My paricipation in this discussion ends now. My actions speak for themselves and I am perfectly happy with that. Hrisi Avgi is on my watchlist. --SandyDancer 15:09, 26 December 2006 (UTC)

It's not my POV, the claim that those who were attacked by Hrisi Avgi is SOURCED (you believe it or not) and was added by User:Michalis Famelis not me. About Ios being lef-wing, yes it is a fact, ask Michalis Famelis. About the text I deleted, I re-inserted it IN THE RIGHT POSITION, while in your version it's misplaced and it doesn't makes sense. PS:It seems that "Macedonia" is POV and that's why you changed it to "acedonia"! Mitsos 15:15, 26 December 2006 (UTC)
