[edit] De La Salle Philippines

[edit] Re: DLSP

Hi Mithril tdd1, sure I'd love to do what I can for those articles and I'll coordinate for other changes, it's just that I'm still trying to feel my way around Wikipedia.

Okay. By the way, i'm also trying to do something for the DLSU-M article. Maybe we can collaborate on certain parts of the article to speed up the development of the article. What do you think? --Mithril tdd1 12:26, 3 July 2006 (UTC)

About the Alumni, I've just seen that list grow to high heavens, it'd be better to snip it to those who already have entries or to include those who are really notable (easily recognizable?). Also, I've created an entry on the De La Salle Brothers in the Philippines, so maybe we could just link the articles there instead of the general FSC article.

[edit] DLS Pictures

Just wanna say nice job on the pictures of De La Salle. SunKing 14:19, 3 July 2006 (UTC)

Thanks. I still have a couple of pictures here waiting to be uploaded. But the article must be expanded first to properly accomodate them all. --Mithril tdd1 14:25, 3 July 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Status of John Bosco College and Andres Soriano Memorial College

Hi, I just got hold of an official newsletter, which listed the member schools of the DLSP and their appointed administrators, and it doesn't list John Bosco College and Andres Soriano Memorial College. I don't think they're direct members of DLSP but rather schools supervised under the LASSO.

Plus I see "Greenhills" was changed to "Green Hills," I know their website says "Green Hills" but other publications within DLSP use "Greenhills," which I've thought was more correct as LSGH is located in Greenhills (cf. "Greenhills Shopping Center"). I'm gonna clear this out with an old-timer one of these days. --SunKing 12:26, 29 July 2006 (UTC)

About JBC and ASMC, it was listed as DLSP members schools on CSB's Fresh perspective so i've added those to the list. Is the newsletter found in DLSU-Manila? I'd like to check it out as well. About Green Hills, maybe it was made that way because if you say La Salle Greenhills, it would be LSG only. --Mithril Cloud 13:10, 29 July 2006 (UTC)
It was actually from Zobel and the EVP also had a memo with same list on it on his bulletin board. About LSGH, "Greenhills" would probably make the abbreviation LSG, but then LASSO would become LSSO. Haha. Anyway, I took a quick look at the style guide and it's "Green Hills." I don't know about the Brothers' House, though. --SunKing 13:35, 29 July 2006 (UTC)
So that settles the Green Hills issue then; as for the newsletter, maybe DLSU-Manila will follow, i'll try to visit it more often. Too bad, the only thing i'm clueless about the LS building is the Brothers' House. To make the future LS Hall article complete, information about it would be necessary. :( --Mithril Cloud 14:05, 29 July 2006 (UTC)
There's like a couple of weeks that the House is open to visitors, but I'm not sure if they're open for CSB students too; you should try visiting it. I remember the student-guides, as well as the Brothers, giving out info about the House but I really don't remember anything they said now. Plus the food's great. --SunKing 15:38, 29 July 2006 (UTC)
I've heard about that. They've opened the House last University Week, which was held on January. That will be a long wait. :( --Mithril Cloud 15:51, 29 July 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Re: La Salle Green Archers or De La Salle Green Archers?

Hi M_C, so is it De La Salle... or La Salle...? --SunKing 13:24, 10 August 2006 (UTC)

Hmm, i think it's interchangeable. UAAP's site refers to it both ways. Mithril Cloud 13:37, 10 August 2006 (UTC)
What's say it be moved De La Salle Green Archers? The defunt DLSU Newsletter used to refer to it as such. --SunKing 13:54, 10 August 2006 (UTC)
That's fine, since there's only a small difference anyway. You can just put something like: The De La Salle Green Archers (also as La Salle Green Archers) is the varsity team... Mithril Cloud 14:11, 10 August 2006 (UTC)
Done and done. =) --SunKing 14:27, 10 August 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Honorary Degree Awardees

Add such a section to the List of people from De La Salle University-Manila? --The SunKing 02:16, 8 September 2006 (UTC)

I've been thinking of that one. Let's create a section then place the Honorary Degree awardees there. -- Mithril Cloud 07:19, 8 September 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Apology

Thanks for working with me in the article about Malate. I admit, I was a bit too defensive since other users were so adamant in removing any and all reference about LGBT activity in Malate and I took offense to that. Anyway, I apologize for my somewhat harsh tone and I should have followed the five pillars of wikipedia(specifically, the code of conduct) just a bit more sincerely. I have much to learn. Cheers. --Chicbicyclist 08:03, 14 August 2006 (UTC)

No problem with that. :) --Mithril Cloud 11:09, 14 August 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Br. John

Hi M_C, here's a draft of Br. John Hall; feel free to modify. --SunKing 06:20, 15 August 2006 (UTC)

Information about the architect would be needed, same goes for the Sports Center article. Any idea where the Commemorative Markers can be found? On second thought, we have the same info on the Br. John Hall. Seems that the article would be too short to become a standalone article. I think we should include it instead to the general campus article. -- Mithril Cloud 08:18, 15 August 2006 (UTC)
Yeah, it's too short. I'll just "put it in a drawer" in the meantime. --SunKing 10:42, 15 August 2006 (UTC)

[edit] St. La Salle Hall ???

Will you be able to add the different point of view requested or is it impossible? Answer me on my talk page please. Lincher 11:41, 2 October 2006 (UTC)

Hey there Mithril Cloud! I would like to ask for your vote for the article of Mariano Trias in Wikipedia's Article Creation and Improvement Drive.

[edit] Holy Spirit School of Tagbilaran

Thanks for the edits. Will work on your suggestion/s, or find ways to improve the article. I did not know songs are un-enclyclopedic. Is there any other way to save it, though? Just checking.--Pinay (talkemail) 22:21, 27 December 2006 (UTC)

Got it! Thanks. --Pinay (talkemail) 06:11, 28 December 2006 (UTC)
BTW, in Bohol, when you ride a tricycle, you tell the driver "Holy Spirit, nong". It is understood that it means "take me to Holy Spirit School." Nobody says Holy Spirit School or Holy Spirit School of Tagbilaran. It is just referred to as Holy Spirit... or sometimes "madre". When somebody asks "where does your child go to school?" in the Bisayan dialect, the answer is either "sa Holy Spirit", or "sa madre". Since that is the most commonly or widely accepted name, that will be the local name no? --Pinay (talkemail) 09:10, 28 December 2006 (UTC)
Okey, got the message on the VMG. --Pinay (talkemail) 04:34, 29 December 2006 (UTC)

Please refrain from undoing other people's edits repeatedly. If you continue, you may be blocked from editing Wikipedia. At any rate please do not do more than three reverts in a 24h period. Rather than reverting, discuss disputed changes on the talk page. The revision you want is not going to be implemented by edit warring. Re your GA nomination of De La Salle schooll...you need to wikilink the full dates in your references. Also, while it's not required, you may want to convert them to cite format. [edit] Help

Congratulations! pa tulong naman o. --Pinay (talkemail) 16:16, 7 January 2007 (UTC)

If you have like a suggested outline, maybe we can place these in the talk page of schools which are still stubs, i.e.See List of SVD Schools. In that way, editors know what are the important points to write about. --Pinay (talkemail) 16:24, 7 January 2007 (UTC)
Do you mean the article outline? I'll try to give off suggestions in the following days. --Mithril Cloud 16:27, 7 January 2007 (UTC)
Yup! Thank you. --Pinay (talkemail) 16:36, 7 January 2007 (UTC)
You can add/delete what I am placing in the talk pages now. --Pinay (talkemail) 16:41, 7 January 2007 (UTC)
Hmm, seems that you've covered all the basic needs for the outline. --Mithril Cloud 12:49, 8 January 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Removing content from your own talk page

Please see Wikipedia:Removing warnings. This was a proposal on this issue that was rejected per Village Pump. Thus, anybody can do anything they want with their own talk pages. Just a side note that I saw from a talk page. Diez2 16:15, 8 January 2007 (UTC)

Are you talking about the anonymous user 125.60.243.22? That anon has been problematic (see below) and doesn't seem to have listened to (or read) the warnings, so I've placed them back to the talk page. --Mithril Cloud 19:46, 8 January 2007 (UTC)

[edit] user 125.60.243.22

Hi Mithril Cloud, I noticed that a user with the IP address Special:Contributions/125.60.243.22 has been making un-encyclopedic edits on the De La Salle and UPLB pages (and a lot more) that I believe border on vandalism. Is there something we can do to prevent this user from vandalizing again, maybe a ban? I'll be honest, I'm not sure as to the exact Wikipedia procedures for this one -- do we need to submit the request to an admin? Or maybe the basic question is, would you consider what the user is doing as vandalism?

Thanks. -- Corsarius 16:32, 8 January 2007 (UTC)

I'm glad somebody else also noticed. Yep, I consider that vandalism; that anon has been very problematic for the past months especially on the articles you've mentioned. I've already posted a lot of warning templates on the anon's talkpage, but as usual it won't listen. Seems that this anon has something against DLSU-D and UPLB based from the anon's edit history. If the anon starts vandalizing again, we can request a local admin to do something about the situation. --Mithril Cloud 19:24, 8 January 2007 (UTC)
Yeah, as well as St. Scholastica's. The weird thing about his/her edits on this last school is that there are actually a few valid edits (adding useful info such as acronyms), but for the most part the vandal removes a lot of other existing info without explanation or basic courtesy to other Wikipedians who have also expended effort for the page. Alright then, I'll be keeping an eye for further unexplained edits. Thanks again, Mithril Cloud. -- Corsarius 08:39, 9 January 2007 (UTC)

Vandalism at UPLB and other pages by 125.60.243.22 and 203.87.224.219 are identical Through IP tracking, both are found out to be SmartBro IP addresses:

I had the hunch before that the anon is probably from St. Scho since the edits on that article isn't that bad. Seems that really is the case.. --Mithril Cloud 03:55, 13 January 2007 (UTC)
He/she's back again at the UPLB page. Tsk! -- Corsarius 16:10, 14 January 2007 (UTC)
Now that it happened again, we can request an admin to do some action. I could've posted a notice at the vandal reporting page but I can't access the page due to bad connection. Perhaps we could notify local admins on the matter by posting at the Tambayan. --Mithril Cloud 16:37, 14 January 2007 (UTC)
Our friendly vandal is as slippery as catfish, hehe. He/she's now using a different IP address 202.81.172.64, but his/her focus on UPLB and DLSU gives him/her away. -- Corsarius 05:08, 26 January 2007 (UTC)
It's quite interesting that the vandal responded for the first time on that "Vito Cruz Society" blurb. I had the impression that this vandal doesn't know how to reply. As for preventive action, no one seemed to care at the Tambayan and this might become an neverending battle of reverts. ~_~ --Mithril Cloud 10:55, 26 January 2007 (UTC)
