Some of the alternate spellings Fukuda uses appear in the Sunrise Complete Works reference guide. This also documents the Sunrise tradition of altering series plots when editing them into movies, Fukuda's role in the early Yuusha series, and the enormous popularity of Cyber Formula in the 1990's. This guide is Japanese language and print only, and I do not know how to cite it in conformance with Wikipedia's standards.

Unfortunately the only extant Baan Gaan footage was released uncredited in the Brave Saga video game. Comparisons of the footage with GEAR Fighter Dendoh footage show extreme similarities in direction style. As Dendoh itself has an extremely distinctive "look", Japanese webpages have used this as a basis for theorizing that Fukuda was the likely director of the Baan Gaan footage.

The matter of "homages" mentioned toward the end of the article could only be cited through comparisons of screenshots from the various series. I do not know how this could be turned into a Wikipedia citation? But it is very obvious to fans who watched the various series, and widely referenced on Japanese webpages. The information about the Italian release of Dendoh can be found on the Italian-language Amazon website and the website of Dendoh designer Hisayuki Hirokazu.

I would hope to see the paragraph about Fukuda's influence and parodies inspired in post-SEED mecha series left intact, as this was frequently commented upon at 2chan anime discussions and other Japanese language websites. I do not know how to footnote these assertions in comformance with Wikipedia's standards, but regardless this kind of information would not be considered inappropriate in another director's Wikipedia page. I am aware Americans strongly dislike Fukuda because they know him only from his inferior Gundam works, but his influence is also important to understand the development of series after Gundam SEED.

Or maybe Gundam SEED is actually bad in terms of story-telling, secondary only to SEED Destiny? And it's not just Americans. The show may be popular, but not good enough.
Questions like: Did Fukuda/Morosawa returned Dearka & Buster Gundam (During the battle at ORB) in order to sell more of the models? (Design-wise, it's a bloated mobile suit just like Calamity and Abyss in terms of use on land.)
Andrew Waltfield (and later Mwu La Flaga) returned after looking like they were killed for sure. Was that convenient? Or just horrid story-telling?
What the heck's with all the after-the-fact interviews about SEED? Kira being dead after the final battle, Frey getting a scar (instead of having sex with Kira) and the piloting the Strike Rouge Gundam, mobile suits hovering in the air; IN EARTH'S ATMOSPHERE NO DOUBT.
As for SEED Destiny, I've compiled a list: http://tyrenol.livejournal.com/28157.html
And I'm not doing this all for my own sake. If it wasn't true, I wouldn't be doing this. But I just wanted to make sure shows like Gundam SEED and SEED Destiny are never made ever again. (It seems that I'm too late, with Sunrise... No. $unrise doing what they did in My-Otome and Code Geass.) Tyrenol 07:55, 30 March 2007 (UTC)
I would not debate that Fukuda's Gundam work is simply not good anime; but much of Tomino's Gundam work is equally terrible compared to Ideon and Xabungle, and Ryosuke Takahashi's Gundam is truly awful compared to VOTOMS, Dougram, Galiant, or even GaoGaiGar. Should a director who has crafted two extremely successful franchises for Sunrise and influenced countless other directors be judged only on the strength of his Gundam work, because Americans simply do not care to watch his other series? It is ridiculous. An article about Takahashi that prioritized Gundam 0083 over VOTOMS would be ridiculous. A Tomino article that did not mention his involvement in Shoujo no Alps no Heidi or Astro Boy would be ridiculous. Likewise, it is ridiculous to discuss Fukuda without so much as a mention of Dendoh, Cyber Formula, or even Dragonar. I sympathize with your dislike of SEED and SEED Destiny, as they disappointed me greatly, but your emotions about two shows do not change the wider facts of the man's career or influence. You are ignorant of Fukuda, and should study his wider work before dismissing it. Would you dismiss Tomino based on F-91 or Victory Gundam, which were criticized strongly by fans at time of release?

Turn-A was hardly a commercial failure, was it? I mean, they made two movies of it...

I hate to say it, but it really was. In my opinion, Turn A was one of the best Gundam series ever created, however, it was not a very popular one.

What saddened me was that the outcry against Fukuda's horrible directing had been removed from Wiki. It's like saying, "this company will continue to employ someone who constantly makes mistakes and will one day drive said company to the ground." Tyrenol 01:28, 20 January 2007 (UTC)

It was removed because it was unsourced opinion. Provide sources and it will go back. Edward321 01:07, 23 January 2007 (UTC)

Better yet: Watch the TV series yourself. Watch all 50 episodes including the clip-shows. Pay attention to what's going on. Tyrenol 07:39, 30 March 2007 (UTC)
These article prove nothing, other than that some people did not like SEED/Destiny, and that it was not as successful overseas as it was in Japan. But no Gundam series is as successful overseas as it is in Japan, and most of Gundam is unpopular and disrespected in foreign markets.
There is 1 series that is popular in foreign markets before SEED and it is W. MythSearchertalk 07:50, 1 August 2007 (UTC)

Why is half of the article about Morosawa? 76.169.132.174 06:03, 28 February 2007 (UTC)
