Talk:Mitsubishi 6A1 engine

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

'In 1994, the Kotsumi's brothers from Kanagawa, Japan, managed to turn the 1.6 litre engine into a 'little monster' able to produce 430 bhp (320 kW) @ 6000 rpm without a forced induction system'. 430bhp @ 6000rpm would require ~376 lb/ft of torque at that same 6000rpm. For a 1600cc naturally aspirated gasoline otto cycle engine, that is thermodynamically impossible.

Article now tidied and expanded to include the rest of the range. Tuned engine details removed, since I can't find a single source which even mentions the "Kotsumi's brothers", never mind substantiates the claim. --DeLarge 10:50 GMT, 12 April 2006

This article also unfortunately cites no sources at all. Can the author help out and add some please? --Zaktoo 19:37, 10 July 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Re: changes to specs of 6A12 DOHC

  • Source to verify original figures: [1] They weren't wrong, so please don't arbitrarily delete. --DeLarge 19:44, 10 September 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Engine weight

Is there a weight data (i.e. The weight of the engine without the gearbox or air cleaner attached) somewhere? I've been looking into articles about engines, and of all 20 or so I've seen so far, none sports engine weight. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 125.161.192.190 (talk) 23:36, 29 December 2007 (UTC)
