[edit] Was Mr Werbell really in the OSS?

I've noticed on a Detachment 101 website that Mr Werbell is not listed as one of the members. Also a photo of him in a bizarre uniform features a shoulder patch of a unit that was not in Burma.Foofbun (talk) 00:49, 3 March 2008 (UTC)

Let's start with the website and photo. Can you give the sites you are referring to? Odestiny (talk) 01:59, 3 March 2008 (UTC)

  • I saw the photo quite some time ago in a book (remember those?) He was wearing a Commonwealth type slouch hat (as some Americans in the CBI did) with US khakis with a 503rd PIR patch on his right shoulder. A unit that was not in Burma (unless you believe 'Objective Burma') and something a real OSS operative would not be entitled to (I doubt he popped into New Guinea or Corregidor)Foofbun (talk) 09:13, 7 March 2008 (UTC)
