Mitsusuke Harada

Mitsusuke Harada is a Japanese Karate master, who founded the Karate Do Shotokai (KDS) organisation in the UK and later around the world.

Mitsusuke Harada's role is that of overall Sensei (instructor) of the KDS, advisor to the Technical Executive, on matters appertaining to the practice of Karate-do.
He had been practising Karate for some 21 years when he first came to Britain in 1963 as the first resident Japanese Karate Instructor in the United Kingdom. He was graded 5th Dan personally by Gichin Funakoshi in 1956 when he was in Brazil, where he set up Shotokan Brazil. At that time 5th Dan was the highest grading for Karate. Now he is recognised as a true Master of his Art throughout the world.
