Mitsuaki Iwagō

Mitsuaki Iwagō (岩合 光昭 Iwagō Mitsuaki?, born November 27, 1950 in Tokyo) is a Japanese wildlife photographer. Tokumitsu Iwagō is his father.

After graduating from Hosei University, Iwago went with his father as the latter's assistant to Galápagos Islands, where he made his mind to become a photographer. His work Letters from the Sea (海からの手紙) won the Kimura Ihei Award in 1979. He is also the first Japanese photographer whose work has appeared on the cover of National Geographic Magazine, twice on May 1986 and December 1994. Now he is the official spokesman of Olympus Corporation.
