Mithileswar (Hindi: मिथिलैश्वर) born December 31, 1950 in Baisadeeh village of 'Bhojpur district in 'Bihar', India, is a noted Hindi writer known for his insight into the rural heartland of India [1]. He started writing since his student period and has accumulated many awards in his carrier. His stories are mostly based on the state of common man in our society. He describes mental state of poor, exploited people from villages or the ones going through diverse conditions in rapidly industrializing modern day India. He minutely observes the people and their state around us and writes with his deep insight on their state in life.

On one side his stories depict people still attached to feudalistic ideologies and on the other side goes on to describe vividly the state of caring and loving women in the society. Some of his stories deal with current politics and degradation of values in our education system.

He extensively uses images and symbols to make his regional stories really effective and impacting.
