Mitchell Islam (born January 24, 1990 in Barrie, Ontario) is a Canadian ice dancer. He competes with Joanna Lenko. They are the 2007 Canadian junior national silver medalists. They withdrew from the 2007 World Junior Figure Skating Championships after the original dance due to illness (Lenko's).[1] They won the silver medal at the Junior Grand Prix event in Budapest earlier than season. Lenko and Islam are the 2007 JGP USA silver medallists. They also won the bronze medal at the 2007 JGP Estonia. These results allowed the team to qualify for the 2007 JGP Final, but health issues forced them to withdraw prior to the event.
The team is coached by Islam's father, David Islam. They train at the Mariposa School of Skating, where David Islam is the director of ice dancing.
