The result of the debate was Delete. Abandonded lists, and due to growth the category system is much simpler to maintain. — xaosflux Talk 15:51, 21 July 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Wikipedia:Wikipedians/United States
All of the pages included in this nomination are unmaintained, hopelessly incomplete, and inferior to and replaced by corresponding categories in Category:Wikipedians in the United States. It was the goal of the Wikipedia:User categorisation project to handle all of these lists, but the project has been completely abandoned since April 2007 (diff), has been mostly inactive since August 2006 (see talk page), and hasn't made any real progress since February 2006 (see diff).

The utility of the lists is further diminished by the fact that they contain a high proportion of inactive users (most people added themselves in 2002-2005). At most, the lists serve as a distraction and create confusion regarding the appropriateness of lists and categories in different circumstances. See precedents for deleting similar outdated "lists of Wikipedians here, here, and here. Delete all. Black Falcon (Talk) 00:38, 16 July 2007 (UTC)
- Delete as stated in nomination. --Kevin Murray 01:03, 16 July 2007 (UTC)
- Delete all per nom. However, the "soft redirects" to the categories should be kept - unless you wish to delete the categories also. (Note: Black Falcon is a UCFD expert, and may have considered that option.) Shalom Hello 01:28, 16 July 2007 (UTC)
- No, I don't intend to nominate the categories for deletion. I nominated the soft redirects because they are (at least to me) implausible search terms that generally have no significant incoming links (the only links are from talk page messages posted over two years ago and from lists of pages from database dumps). I'm pretty sure they would be deleted at RfD, but decided to include them in this nomination since they're technically not redirects. The only that is completely a soft redirect is Wikipedia:Wikipedians/Wisconsin; a number of the others have "this page is being replaced by" notices but also contain additional content. - Delete all all redundant and inferior to categories. Hut 8.5 10:07, 16 July 2007 (UTC)
- Delete all per Black Falcon. Unmaintained lists don't need to be kept around. EdJohnston 02:32, 18 July 2007 (UTC)
- Delete all non encyclopediac lists like these shouldn't exist.--SefringleTalk 05:08, 19 July 2007 (UTC)
