[edit] Wikipedia:WikiProject Geocaching
Two edits. Over a year of inactivity. SLSB talk ER 01:01, 26 July 2007 (UTC)
- Delete - on the basis of inactivity. John Carter 01:03, 26 July 2007 (UTC)
- Delete without prejudice against re-creation if someone else wants to try again - a perfect example of a WikiProject that never got going. Let me say this again, as SLSB has been nominating lots of inactive WikiProjects - inactivity alone is not enough for deletion. You need to demonstrate in addition that (a) there has never been any substantial activity in the past (if there has been activity in the past, but no longer, then consider closing the project - but closing does not equal deletion). The only other reason to delete a WikiProject, apart from ones that never took off, is if it has become actively harmful or is pushing a POV. Carcharoth 01:45, 26 July 2007 (UTC)
- I second that. If a WikiProject was formerly active but isn't any longer, we keep it: it's a record of past work, and it may yet spring back to life. WikiProjects which never got off the ground or which were formed to push some point of view are fair game. There's a fine line between helpful janitorial work and being disruptive so please bear this in mind SLSB. Disk space is cheap, and we don't delete infrastructure for the sake of it. --kingboyk 21:50, 26 July 2007 (UTC)
- ...and deletions don't save disk space anyway, due to the existence of Special:Undelete. (Actually, there is a small chance that the devs will some day clean the deletion archives out; they've maintained the possibility open for ages, but the point is that there won't be any server space freed for a long time; the database dumps will become slightly smaller, but that's about it, and it really isn't a relevant criterion in deciding whether to delete something.) --ais523 08:32, 27 July 2007 (UTC)

- Delete I am 100% sure that this project was created in good faith and the creator did actually intend to work on it and help maintain it, however it must have been forgotten about, I would support its re-creation if it was going to be made an active Wikiproject with members etc but for the minute, I say delete. — Rlest (formerly Qst) 14:52, 26 July 2007 (UTC)
- Delete no content edits other than those of the creator, no members, no activity in over a year. Hut 8.5 10:11, 30 July 2007 (UTC)
