[edit] Wikipedia:WikiProject Amboseli BR Activities

This project has existed for only a few days short of a year and still has yet to have a single member officially join. The only individual seemingly active with the page seems to be the lead author of a book which is seen as being the primary point of reference for this project, which could be seen as an attempt by that individual to "push" his work onto wikipedia. Proposing the project be considered for deletion on the basis of lack of activity, no members, and possible conflict of interest of creator in perhaps trying to create a project which would serve to publicize his own published work. The same could be said for the broader Wikipedia:WikiProject Amboseli Biosphere Reserve project, which may have a bit more slightly salvagable material. • Comment - I agree it does look like a lot of the material might be salvagable in one form or another, possibly even as separate articles, and I wouldn't mind seeing a lot of it made as separate articles, provided sourcing can be derived. Maybe the page could be userfied instead, or deletion delayed until such time as the content can be "spun out" into separate articles. John Carter (talk) 16:29, 7 February 2008 (UTC)

• John, I think this is the project with the more salvable material, there may be WP:COI issues but not the WP:OR issues that exist for the other nom: Wikipedia:Miscellany_for_deletion#Wikipedia:WikiProject_Amboseli_Biosphere_Reserve. I think the material should be preserved somewhere, whether by merging to WP:KENYA and asking them to find a use for it or otherwise. In no event should this remain a separate project, that's just silly to have two, apparently single-participant, projects that are in a direct parent-child relationship. In the unlikely event that the other one is kept this should be moved to a working group/task force of it. Best option I think is move both to WP:KENYA but strip out the OR from the other one.--Doug.^{(talk • contribs)} 02:34, 18 February 2008 (UTC)
• Comment - I've copied the content of the page into userspace, and will attempt to make separate articles out of it as time goes on, depending on whether the content seems to be verifiable or not. John Carter (talk) 20:51, 18 February 2008 (UTC)
