[edit] Wikipedia:Story of the Day
WP:NOT a story book, more importantly most of these stories have been lifted from this website. Not good, not useful in any way. Obviously, all the subpages etc should go as well as the main page. Majorly (o rly?) 02:14, 21 March 2007 (UTC)

- Delete - Wikipedia is a damn encyclopedia. PTO 02:21, 21 March 2007 (UTC)
- Delete Wikipedia is not Grimm's Fairy Tales. Real96 02:31, 21 March 2007 (UTC)
- Delete based upon WP:MOTD (layout and everything). Totally unuseful for Wikipedia as a project and a community, and apparently also a copyvio. I support deletion of this project, and all subpages, templates and categories that are associatied with it. --TheDJ (talk • contribs • WikiProject Television) 02:34, 21 March 2007 (UTC)

- Keep this is far more useful then Motto of the Day also since Wikipedia has 100's of articles on stories why not have a story of the day it can convince people to write better articles on the stories and cause more information on each used story to be learned by people doing research there is even a sound of the day project --Java7837 03:02, 21 March 2007 (UTC)
- Wikipedia:Picture of the day will never help an article get better unlike this project--Java7837 03:05, 21 March 2007 (UTC)

- Delete - Wikisource has a featured text of the month. Perhaps if people as interested as Java7837 participate in wikisource, it could even be increased to a text per week, or every two weeks, or something like that. Wikipedia isn't a library -- it's an encyclopedia. Sounds and pictures can, and should, be included in articles. On the other hand, primary sources shouldn't be included in their entirety. GracenotesT § 03:50, 21 March 2007 (UTC)
- Transwiki it to wikisource.org --Java7837 11:33, 21 March 2007 (UTC)
- Transwiki as above, however to Wikiquote! Booksworm Talk to me! 15:34, 21 March 2007 (UTC)
- Delete. I am concerned that stories aren't helpful in building the encyclopedia, nor provide any usable information for the story articles themselves. SOTD or POTD as a keep argument isn't particularly convincing; primary due to WP:WAX, but also because pictures and sounds often tend to be more meaningful and encyclopedic. Given the most of it is a simple copy-paste job, a transwiki is inappropriate here as well. Michaelas10Respect my authoritah 15:50, 21 March 2007 (UTC)
- Delete project, subpages, and templates and do not transwiki per Gracenotes. Unlike SOTD and POTD, this is totally useless and does not help the encyclopedia. Transwikiing doesn't appear to be feasible due to potential copyright concerns (that is, unless the stories are PD, but it doesn't appear likely). --Coredesat 22:03, 21 March 2007 (UTC)
- Weak keep contingent upon it being a) wikilinked better, and b) not a copyright violation. Abeg92contribs 00:57, 22 March 2007 (UTC)
I used project gutenberg for the stories and checked they are in the public domain--Java7837 04:24, 22 March 2007 (UTC)
