[edit] Wikipedia:Proposed deletion
I'm sorry for this extremely short nomination for such a controversial debate, but I think that it's time for prod to go. My reasoning is simple: it doesn't get the amount of attention it should, and a lot of notable articles get deleted. I don't see how this can't be substituted for speedy or afd. That's all. Let consensus decide this policy's fate. Editorofthewiki (talk) 19:47, 13 February 2008 (UTC)
- Keep It works fine, gives more review than speedy, and keeps the AFD workload limited. And, anyone that asks for a prodded article back gets it. GRBerry 19:43, 13 February 2008 (UTC)
- Yes, but it lets articles to be mercilessly deleted by admins. The AfD workload may be a problem, but generally they are given more time and I'd suggest extending that with this deletion. Editorofthewiki (talk) 19:47, 13 February 2008 (UTC)
- Comment Can you show some of the "notable articles" that have been deleted? I'd like to see what kind of things have "fallen through the cracks" so to speak because of PROD. Thanks, Metros (talk) 19:47, 13 February 2008 (UTC)
- Show me the recently deleted articles because of prod and I'll show you which ones are notable, at least in my opinion. Editorofthewiki (talk) 19:50, 13 February 2008 (UTC)
- No, you raised it in your nomination. It's your duty to supply such evidence. You're saying good articles are being deleted, but you have no proof of what these good articles are? Metros (talk) 19:51, 13 February 2008 (UTC)
- I'm saying that it probably happened, and if you can supply the recently deleted ones I will show you which ones are notable. Editorofthewiki (talk) 19:57, 13 February 2008 (UTC)
- No, what you said is that it is a fact that articles that are notable are being deleted. So show us these articles. You presented it as a fact, now please provide the evidence. As an admin, I think my judgment to reject prods if they are notable is pretty good and I think the other 1,000+ admins out there feel the same way. So is this actually happening or do you think it may be happening? Metros (talk) 20:15, 13 February 2008 (UTC)

- Speedy Keep MFD is NOT the place to revoke policy (as it says in the "Prerequisites" section). This seems to be a disruptive and WP:POINTY nomination by an editor who was recently blocked for being POINTY. Collectonian (talk) 19:49, 13 February 2008 (UTC)

- Inappropriate venue. MFD is not for disputing policies. Friday (talk) 19:55, 13 February 2008 (UTC)
- How do you revoke policy? If I can find out where to do that I will close this immediately. Editorofthewiki (talk) 19:57, 13 February 2008 (UTC)
- Keep, and I too wish people would stop using MFD to draw sudden attention to their policy disputes. rspeer / ɹəədsɹ 19:56, 13 February 2008 (UTC)
- Comment Agan, none of you are listening to my reasoning. Closing admin, please read it before closing. Editorofthewiki (talk) 20:06, 13 February 2008 (UTC)
