[edit] Wikipedia:Presidential poll / User:Basketball110/Presidential poll
This page is a bad idea for wikipedia. In my opinion it takes things away from the encyclopedia – yes of course, editors matter, but this does not promote a collaborative environment and puts individual views against each other. It takes focus off more prominent issues here and it is more like what you would expect on a social networking site. My main concern is the end result – it could appear that a top ten website is endorsing a candidate because the “majority” of the community is supporting them. It does nothing for our reputation as a neutral resource. The page will achieve very little as an end result. Ryan Postlethwaite 01:20, 7 February 2008 (UTC)

Inappropriate in Wikipedia namespace. Waste of time in the projectspace, possibly divisive. Note that this was moved into userspace by Nishkid64 (talk • contribs • blocks • protects • deletions • moves • rights), an action reverted by Earthbendingmaster (talk · contribs). Userspace ultimately encourages the same waste of time. ~ Riana ⁂ 01:24, 7 February 2008 (UTC)
- If you think it needs to be in user space, I will move it back? Earthbendingmaster 01:26, 7 February 2008 (UTC)
- I don't think it should be anywhere, but userspace is far better than project space. ~ Riana ⁂ 01:27, 7 February 2008 (UTC)

- To anyone reading this, please don't actually do anything based on my offering an opinion here. This is not a decree, just an opinion. It is my opinion that pages of this sort should not just be deleted via MfD, but should qualify for immediate speedy deletion upon creation. This sort of thing is just wrong wrong wrong for Wikipedia. We should leave our politics at the door.--Jimbo Wales (talk) 01:33, 7 February 2008 (UTC)
