The result of the debate was Nomination withdrawn. A compromise solution is to update the page from Meta, as is done with the help pages. // Pathoschild (admin / talk) 22:04, 13 April 2006 (UTC)
This page exists on the Meta-Wiki at m:Meta:No open proxies, and is linked to from Wikisource and Wiktionary. I suggest that the page be soft redirected to the Meta-Wiki page since this is a Foundation-wide policy. Pathoschild (admin / talk) 06:08, 8 April 2006 (UTC)
- Keep Unfortunately that makes it difficult for newb's to read, I think keeping this would be a better idea, and as we already link to Meta, nothing else needs to be done. ALKIVAR™ 07:13, 8 April 2006 (UTC)
- As shown by the following box taken from the Wikisource page, it is rather clear where the policy is. The user need only click the single link on the page, yet it vastly simplifies the coordination of Foundation policy. I don't really see how this would make it more difficult for new users to read the policy.
This policy can be found on the Meta-Wiki at m:Meta:No open proxies.// Pathoschild (admin / talk) 09:39, 8 April 2006 (UTC)

- Weak keep per Alkivar. Duplication of policy pages that might apply especially to new editors is not a strain on resources, and does have small advantages; by the same token, deletion wouldn't be awful either, hence a weak keep. Xoloz 15:56, 8 April 2006 (UTC)
- Keep. On meta, it's categorized as "Category: Uncategorized". On Wikipedia, it's categorized as "Wikipedia official policy". I think official policies are important to have directly on Wikipedia (so not to confuse newbies), so it's clear it applies to Wikipedia. Also, this policy page ties together with Wikipedia:WikiProject on open proxies. --Aude (talk | contribs) 13:38, 10 April 2006 (UTC)
- (Note that the WikiProject on open proxies is only a local branch of the Meta WikiProject on open proxies.) // Pathoschild (admin / talk) 23:56, 10 April 2006 (UTC)
