[edit] Wikipedia:Editcountitis
This page is a bad joke. If it was a genuine article examining the phenomenon on Wikipedia then I could see keeping it. It misleads new users and completely violates WP:NPOV. As it is, this does not act as a guideline at all, and merely berates those who consider editcounts an effective way of evaluating a user's experience. KI 00:58, 7 January 2006 (UTC)
- Strong keep 1) It's in Category:Wikipedia humor, so it's not meant to be taken totally seriously; 2) it's a frequently referenced page to do exactly what you are accusing it of (berate people who think edit counts are super-important); 3) you're in articles for deletion and this belongs in WP:MFD. howcheng {chat} 01:04, 7 January 2006 (UTC)
- Speedy keep, per above. -- Hurricane Eric - my dropsonde - archive 01:23, 7 January 2006 (UTC)
- BJAODN. Bad joke, nonsense. Andrew_pmk | Talk 02:32, 7 January 2006 (UTC)
- Speedy keep, please.--SarekOfVulcan 03:33, 7 January 2006 (UTC)
- Keep per above. It's funny, and seems to be useful, according to how many pages link to it. -- Parasti 05:16, 7 January 2006 (UTC)
- Keep. If it's that important, rewrite it without the humor. --Interiot 07:13, 7 January 2006 (UTC)
- Keep. It is part joke, and part serious. Note that it's in wikipedia namespace, not article namespace. -- Rick Block (talk) 19:02, 7 January 2006 (UTC)
- Keep per above. SorryGuy 19:10, 8 January 2006 (UTC)
- Strong keep -- The day every scrap of text on Wikipedia is forced to be factual, encyclopedic, NPOV and bereft of humor will be ... well, it'll be something pretty darn sad, that's what. Pages like this one add to the enjoyability of Wikipedia. Adrian Lamo 23:45, 8 January 2006 (UTC)
- Keep Wikipedia is not paper. Have a sense of humour, people! Batmanand 23:46, 8 January 2006 (UTC)
- Keep. It's funny and useful and not an article. Preaky 04:59, 9 January 2006 (UTC)
- Keep. It's in project space, and useful. xaosflux Talk/CVU 06:30, 9 January 2006 (UTC)

- Strong Keep per Adrian Lamo. --Aaron 01:36, 12 January 2006 (UTC)
- Keep Come on, its funny! If you want to move it, make it a different page instead of an artice. Or put a tag the says this is not to be used for real reasearch. I say it's a keep! American Patriot 1776 22:36, 12 January 2006 (UTC)
- Strong keep and nominate the edit counter for deletion instead :-) - Liberatore(T) 17:55, 13 January 2006 (UTC)
- weak keep More serious stuff should be written on how to tackle the Wiki-disease. DaGizzaChat (c) 01:35, 14 January 2006 (UTC)
- Strong keep - This page is really useful to give information about this "disease," as being both funny while providing serious information. Look, I just added one more edit to my counter right now!!! :) --FlyingPenguins 19:25, 14 January 2006 (UTC)
