[edit] Wikipedia:An internet of things
This page was created in August 2005. I don't get the purpose of this or why it's in the Wikipedia namespace. --Aude (talk | contribs) 17:15, 3 April 2006 (UTC)

- Delete I suppose userfication is ok, but I so profoundly confused about the purpose of this thing, I'd like it explained first. Xoloz 21:01, 3 April 2006 (UTC)\
- Delete or userfy per above. Hoort 21:53, 3 April 2006 (UTC)
- There is certainly a place for an article on hyperlinking objects (if we don't already have one?) - one of the sessions at Wikimania 2005 was about this and the potential to link with Wikipedia. AIUI the idea is that you can use the tags (e.g. by taking a photo of a graphical icon with your mobile phone) to find out more information about whatever it is that has been tagged (e.g. in a museum you could use it to find out more about an object). It gets the information by automatically connecting to the website that has been linked with that tag (which could be a Wikipedia article for example). I presume that the Wikimania presentation is why this is in the project namespace. With a better title and completely rewritten introduction (the "definition" section doens't make much sense), this would make a good starting point for that article. So Move to article space or userfy until the cleanup is done if needed. I'm happy to have it in my userspace until such time as its ready to be an article if people would prefer that to a straight transfer to an article. I'll see if I can find my notes from Wikimania and see if the relevant presenter ever put their presentation on Wikibooks (or the Wikimania wiki). Thryduulf 16:24, 4 April 2006 (UTC)
- Comment. Your explanation is helpful. Maybe you want to move it to Object hyperlinking? or userfy first and cleanup more? That's fine by me. --Aude (talk | contribs) 16:34, 4 April 2006 (UTC)
- Object hyperlinking would be a good title unless there is a different official one. I've not had chance to look yet. Thryduulf 20:56, 4 April 2006 (UTC)
