[edit] User talk:Q-Bah
User page was speedily deleted for being spam. User did not have a talk page, but a friendly bot reminded the user their spam was being deleted. I tried to speedy and prod the talk page, since it has no meaningful history and only exists as a result of the user page being deleted! meaning it can go along with the user page. Another user reverted me twice, so I am putting it forth for formal deletion. -Nard 05:49, 6 January 2008 (UTC)
- Comment I hear talk pages cannot be deleted; they are vital because people contact them. The best thing to do is blank the page and warn the user before he gets blocked. —BoL 05:53, 6 January 2008 (UTC)
- They are usually not deleted, because they contain valuable page history. Talk pages that have no valuable page history are allowed to be deleted especially if the user is not expected to return to Wikipedia, see Category:Temporary Wikipedian userpages. Talk pages can always be remade if necessary, deleting ones with no significant history does no harm. -Nard 05:56, 6 January 2008 (UTC)
- Kreep The warning is clearly relevant. If the user comes back he'll want to know what happened to his user page. –Pomte 13:17, 6 January 2008 (UTC)
- Keep Warning is relevant and user is not indefinitely blocked. I denied your speedy deletion because it was clearly against criterion g8 which states no user talk pages, and the prod still didn't give a good reason to delete. (e.g. Right to vanish) Finally, a quote from the guideline Wikipedia:User page: "As a matter of practice user talk pages are generally not deleted, barring legal threats or other grievous violations that have to be removed for legal reasons; however, exceptions to this can be and are made on occasion for good reason (see right to vanish). In addition, nonpublic personal information and potentially libellous information posted to your talk page may be removed by making a request for oversight." --Michael Greiner 14:31, 6 January 2008 (UTC)
- Keep Unless the user is blocked, the warning is relevant - summarized best as stated above by Michael.--12 Noon 2¢ 22:28, 7 January 2008 (UTC)
