The result of the debate was Keep - The material on the userpage does not violate WP:USER#NOT particularly under the great latitude afforded active editors. User comments that violate WP:OWN should result in a warning, not a deletion, and are as a practical matter nothing more than statements of the fact that all active editors realistically expect that other editors will not ordinarily make edits to their userspages. [edit] User:Xinyu
Violates WP:USER#NOT. User with sporadic edits and a problematic edit history, which is evident on the user page. This user's main page consists of mainly of material he was not allowed to put into Wikipedia (various neologisms, Illuminati bloodline conspiracy theories, and some links) and the rest of the material is pseudo-philosophical material, none of which contributes to either an understanding of the user or to the benefit of the encyclopedia. Borders on personal webspace. MSJapan (talk) 00:27, 6 April 2008 (UTC)
- Keep It doensn't violate what the 'pedia is not, and even if it did I'd be willing to ignore that because he's done work on the mainspace, even if he hasn't written 20 million FAs; he's started afew articles, done a bit of copyediting etc--Phoenix-wiki 10:24, 6 April 2008 (UTC)
- Keep - It really is a user page with information about the user. You can be plesed that the neologism are not in the mainspace, The stuff here is harmless, no one will mistake it for an article. Graeme Bartlett (talk) 00:34, 7 April 2008 (UTC)
- Delete - User has announced intent to disrupt, based any edits to the userpage: NOTICE: the removal of any of the above codes would result in edit-wars, and that is not what any of the users of Wikipedia want. Whatever is done on this user page is absolute, and ABSOLUTE, do not question, and do not vandalize Delete, salt the earth.--Vidkun (talk) 19:13, 8 April 2008 (UTC)

- If anyone tried to edit somebody elses userpage there#d be edit wars. I like my userpage the way it is, and if someone came a longand changed it completely without talking to me first for some reason, I would revert of course, so your point is null.--Phoenix-wiki 19:17, 8 April 2008 (UTC)

- I guess you aren't familiar enough with [this], then, wherein it states that userpages still belong to the community.--Vidkun (talk) 19:28, 8 April 2008 (UTC)

- Yes but you'd be a fool to edit someone elses userpage, and you could just ask for him to remove that bit rather than delete the whole page over one thing. They belong to the community, but the reason each user has one is because it's his private zone where he can put his stuff, otherwise there'd be no point in having one. Ande didn't "announce his intent to disrupt" either. Btw can I give your userpage a complete makeover then? I've always wanted to do that :-p--Phoenix-wiki 21:22, 8 April 2008 (UTC)
