[edit] User:Wikimina
Per WP:NOT#USER. Wikipedia is not, in this case, a place to organise your class. None of the class members have made any constructive edits, and the account itself is not making any, and indeed is not logging in anymore, preffering to edit from an IP. - Keep (for now), unlike other school scratch pad pages, this one may be going in a good direction, appears that it is encouraging an entire class of students to sign up and learn about wikipedia, if this brings in more editors I'm for it. — xaosflux Talk 11:56, 30 August 2007 (UTC)
- I disagree with your reasoning, which seems to be "we should ignore rules when there's a chance of a positive outcome". I disagree, needless to say. Rules are rules are rules.Delete. --Agamemnon2 12:05, 31 August 2007 (UTC)
- And I disagree with your reasoning. Wikipedia:Ignore all rules (yes, a rule on how to ignore rules) says "If a rule prevents you from working with others to improve or maintain Wikipedia, ignore it". These people are helping to improve and maintain Wikipedia--Pheonix15 10:34, 1 September 2007 (UTC)
- Weeell, if I had my druthers, WP:IAR would go the way of the dodo really fast. There is far too much wishy-washy twaddling around the place as it is. Calling it an encyclopedia at its present state is bordering on insulting. --Agamemnon2 11:11, 1 September 2007 (UTC)
- WP:IAR is there to stop vandals etc getting off on technicalities and good users "technically" doing something wrong (the latter point includes this user)--Pheonix15 12:48, 1 September 2007 (UTC)
- And that's all well and good, but you can't make an omel--- Sorry, I just got arrested by the Cliche Police. I'll be back after 2 to 5 of "a stereotypical dungeon". --Agamemnon2 13:45, 3 September 2007 (UTC)

- Keep - Agreed, All it is a teachers attempt to organize his/her class for work on Wikipedia. Remember this Wikipedia:School and university projects. Also WP:IAR. --Tλε Rαnδom Eδιτor (tαlk) 22:19, 30 August 2007 (UTC)
- Keep per xaosflux. Strictly speaking, it violates the rules, but in the greater scheme of things, it does more good than harm for Wikipedia. Shalom Hello 22:57, 30 August 2007 (UTC)
- Delete, contrary to those dignified persons above me. This is as clear a violation of WP:NOT#USER as it gets. There is no sign that Wikimina intends to use Wikipedia as an object lession for the course and more than the slightest indication that they want a free "managed" wiki. If we don't enforce the policy, why have it? As for invoking WP:IAR, I defer to WP:WIARM. Course homepages do not an encyclopedia make. -Gretyl 00:02, 31 August 2007 (UTC)
- They certainly do not, I've speedied pages that were syllabuses or class notes in line with NOT a free webhost. My Keep !vote above is without weight for revisting this debate in say a month if it is being used more as a host then a tool for organizing editors. — xaosflux Talk 01:55, 31 August 2007 (UTC)
- Keep - This page is gathering information now, it will be a place to talk about HCI and their researches, so please wait for little more, it is not just a personnal blog trash. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Wikimina (talk • contribs) 01:48, 31 August 2007 (UTC)
- Keep. Looks like a way of trying to organize some class work, which is relevant to the Wikipedia writing. It is unconventional, but not an abuse of userspace. Sjakkalle (Check!) 08:23, 31 August 2007 (UTC)
- Delete - Violates WP:NOT#USER and What may I not have on my user page? -- Jreferee (Talk) 08:43, 1 September 2007 (UTC)
- Delete This is an encyclopedia. encourage Wikimina to learn other ways to organize her class--perhaps as a class wiki. Class projects to contribute to WP are a good thing, but on-WP is not the place to set up the mechanics. This is not exactly covered by existing rules, so in a sense we are trying to find an appropriate guideline. What would WP look like if there were many such? DGG (talk) 04:31, 2 September 2007 (UTC)
- Delete Wikipedia is not an a webhost provider. If she wants to organize her class material, then please do it on the school's/organization's website. Miranda 08:59, 2 September 2007 (UTC)
- Weak keep - both sides have valid points, however, I am leaning towards keep. --Isis4563 23:36, 2 September 2007 (UTC)
- Comment If this MFD goes through, what will be done with the student userpages? Will they be deleted at the same time? If they are to be given a reprieve for a while longer, who intends to keep track of them? --Groggy Dice T | C 23:53, 2 September 2007 (UTC)
- Delete. While I sympathize with the desire to give this more time, the user's edits since the start of this MFD have blithely followed her original pattern, and her own response here gives no sense that she understands our policies or intends to set her class to editing Wikipedia articles. --Groggy Dice T | C 23:53, 2 September 2007 (UTC)
- Query has anyone managed to contact this person? If she missed a vital policy, perhaps we can point this out to her. >Radiant< 07:12, 3 September 2007 (UTC)
- Comment Now that the user has moved to Wikiversity, this MfD may need to be reconsidered. I'm willing to let her leave up her note pointing to her Wikiversity page. --Groggy Dice T | C 21:59, 3 September 2007 (UTC)
