[edit] User:The BYC, User talk:The BYC
User page being used to promote an otherwise non-notable band. This is an exact copy of The BYC, which I speedied under CSD A7. The user's only other edits are to upload vanity photos of the band and to create a template with the same intent.
I also nominate the user's talk page for deletion for the same reason. It has been the rule of thumb not to delete legitimate user talk pages, but I believe this should be an exception to the rule because it is so blatantly promoting the band. The only other edit to the user talk page has been by Durin removing a fair use image. Awyong Jeffrey Mordecai Salleh 14:10, 3 September 2006 (UTC)
- Delete, WP is not a place to host one's webpage. feydey 22:37, 4 September 2006 (UTC)
- Moving such content to a user-page is often an accepted compromise to give a well-intentioned user time to understand our policies, standards and traditions. This particular user has been participating since late June. According to the contribution history, all non-deleted edits have been to this user-page or to related image or template pages. I'm not seeing any serious intention to contribute to the encyclopedia. Delete as an inappropriate use of the userspace but I would reconsider if the user turns over a new leaf and begins making valuable additions to the project. Speedy delete as recreated content. 1ne 23:55, 5 September 2006 (UTC)Delete. 1ne 01:49, 6 September 2006 (UTC)- Comment: I can find no evidence that this content was ever deleted as the result of an XfD discussion. Prior speedy-deletions are explicitly excluded from the "recreated content" criterion. Rossami (talk)
- Alright, then. Changing my "vote" (for lack of a better word) to reflect that. 1ne 01:49, 6 September 2006 (UTC)
