[edit] User:Tedius Zanarukando
A gigantic soapbox userpage dedicated to expounding this user's somewhat unorthodox views, such as that "believes that female fashion must conform to male wishes," criticizing "defeminated women" and "misandry," "a Jekyll-and-Hyde type view toward the female sex," etc., etc. Extremely non-conducive to collaboration, and not what userspace should be used for. Krimpet 06:39, 22 July 2007 (UTC)
speedy delete- per WP:SOAP, WP:USER, WP:NOT#MYSPACE. Pretty offensive, actually, and is a complete misuse of userspace - Alison ☺ 06:47, 22 July 2007 (UTC)- I object - This is the worst Wikipedia battle I would ever fight in. I am revising the userpage per Alison's reason as we speak. What would be deleted is anything that is an obvious misuse of userpage. This userpage is not intended to expound my so-called "unorthodox views", views that are common among men. Also Krimpet has views that are found to be wrong. - It's not a battle. It's a discussion about deleting your userpage. Furthermore, it's fortunate that your offensive, control-freakery views are not actually "common among men". This is not about your views, nor about Krimpet's. She keeps her views, whatever they are, off her userpage - Alison ☺ 19:55, 22 July 2007 (UTC)

- Change to Weak keep - the owner has done a lot to clean it up and make it compliant. It looks reasonably acceptable right now - Alison ☺ 02:12, 24 July 2007 (UTC)
- Delete if it stays in the present condition. This is not an acceptable use of userspace. — Gavia immer (talk) 17:15, 22 July 2007 (UTC)
- I object Deletion is not the answer. Make this userpage in acceptable condition. This Userpage has been changed since it was tagged for deletion. Records about what articles I started may be lost if this userpage is deleted. Some of Krimpet's claims are based on feminist extremism. Decimus Tedius Regio Zanarukando 17:47, 22 July 2007 (UTC)
- Which "claims"? You don't need to be a feminist to understand why your userpage in its original version was against stated policies - Alison ☺ 19:55, 22 July 2007 (UTC)

- Keep - Give the guy a chance to shorten his user page. Apart from a few sections and the staggeringly detailed biography, most of Zanarukando's user page is made of things many other Wikipedians also have in their user pages, such as a list of the articles he has started or greatly contributed to, an excessive amount of userboxes, and a list of the places he has been to. Nothing out of the ordinary really, but I agree that the page needs to be less WP:SOAPish and have less MySpace-like elements. --ざくら木 20:07, 22 July 2007 (UTC)
- Strong delete - a great example of WP:NOT, but we can't keep it around just for that. This user has edited his userpage 1014 times. (ESkog)(Talk) 21:08, 22 July 2007 (UTC)
- Stomp. that is, remove the material that doesn't exactly fit in an user page, and keep it that way; we're not a home page service. Ramblings about articles are okay, though. I don't think actual deletion is warranted though. --wwwwolf (barks/growls) 21:34, 22 July 2007 (UTC)
- Delete - per all off the deletes above. SLSB talk ER 01:22, 23 July 2007 (UTC)
- Edit waaay down. I won't comment on his views, except that WP:SOAP and WP:NOT#MYSPACE apply here. Short bio and lists of Wikipedia-related accomplishments: fine. Everything in between - about 80% - delete. Acroterion (talk) 02:34, 23 July 2007 (UTC)
- I object. My biography is relevant, except maybe point of view. Do not make it too short, or else I would have to rewrite it. Do not delete my Userbox page. Decimus Tedius Regio Zanarukando 00:58, 24 July 2007 (UTC)

- Your bio isn't exactly relevant to Wikipedia, but there's nothing wrong with knowing a little about an editor: it's nice to have context. But it should be concise. Think resumé. It's possible to have too much information, and you definitely have too much. It would be best if you were the editor - that's why you're here, to edit, and brevity is beauty in an encyclopedia. Acroterion (talk) 01:13, 24 July 2007 (UTC)
- I want to preserve the biography that has been on the Userpage on the Internet. Is there a way to do so? I would have to transfer the full biography that has been on my userpage to my message board and place a link to it at the end of my "Profile Summary". Decimus Tedius Regio Zanarukando 01:19, 24 July 2007 (UTC)
- MySpace [1], for instance? - that's why everybody's telling you that Wikipedia is not MySpace. It's free, and it's where you can tell the world about yourself and share your thoughts to your heart's content. Yahoo 360 [2] is similar and equally free. Save the text to your computer and upload to one or both of those services. That's why they exist. Acroterion (talk) 01:34, 24 July 2007 (UTC)
- I already saved the text on my computer in the form of a future Web site. I have transferred the Biography text to my message board, which I am the administrator. I am intending on publishing my Web site, which I am currently working on. Decimus Tedius Regio Zanarukando 01:45, 24 July 2007 (UTC)
- There you go; a little about you, and a list of what you've done on Wikipedia. Good job. Acroterion (talk) 01:51, 24 July 2007 (UTC)
