The result of the debate was speedy keep; nomination withdrawn. Since there is no separate article for this problem (nor should their be), it is a valid use of userspace to develop this topic in an unpressurized sandbox format. The issue of server load raised by Rambutan is not a problem. Non-admin closure. Shalom Hello 03:16, 20 July 2007 (UTC)
[edit] User:Stingmans/Deathly Hollows Leaks
User:Stingmans forked this content off from Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows when people kept deleting it because it failed WP:V. They are now hosting it in user space as "a sandbox", i.e. to avoid the need to meet WP:V. However, this now violates WP:NOT#BLOG. Marnanel 02:12, 19 July 2007 (UTC)
(Oh, I should mention that they initially moved the content to Stringmans/Deathly Hollows Leaks in the main namespace; I myself moved it into userspace because that was clearly the intention, since there is no page Stringmans... although I suppose that would mean it could have been speedied if I'd left it. But due process is important.) Marnanel 02:17, 19 July 2007 (UTC)
- Keep for now. The book is being released in just over 48 hours; after that point, there are no longer grounds for objection to including plot summaries and information about leaks into the article, or anywhere else. Not that I think this is particularly well-written; it certainly needs work. That is exactly what a sandbox is for. If it is still around in a few weeks and the information is substantially included in the article (or the sandbox remains untouched), then it would be appropriate to re-nominate. Incidentally, it is considered good wiki-etiquette to notify the user whose sandbox you have nominated for deletion directly onto their user talk page. I encourage you to do so. - Speedy Keep: Eh, good point. Marnanel 03:28, 19 July 2007 (UTC)
- Speedy delete It doesn't add anything to Wikipedia, so why burden servers with it?--Rambutan (talk) 14:28, 19 July 2007 (UTC)
- Speedy Keep It's in user space. What Wikipedia policy is it violating? --Richard 17:36, 19 July 2007 (UTC)
