[edit] User:One Night In Hackney/Monarchy
Blatantly inflammatory, especially as there's a more neutral version at User:Bluedenim/against Monarchy –– Lid(Talk) 11:48, 12 June 2007 (UTC)
- Comment There's plenty of pro and anti-death penalty userboxes and the like, I don't see the problem with this one. One Night In Hackney303 11:49, 12 June 2007 (UTC)
- Delete. Userboxes calling for the killing of people, even in jest and even in userspace, is not good. Sjakkalle (Check!) 12:00, 12 June 2007 (UTC)

- Comment It isn't referring to future events, as you can tell by execution linking to Guillotine. One Night In Hackney303 12:03, 12 June 2007 (UTC)

- As a strong supporter of the Norwegian royal family, a family which held Norway united during World War II, and an opponent of the death penalty in general, I find the idea of guillotining them simply abhorrent. Furthermore, use of the guillotine is not as ancient as you might think. It was in use into the 1970s. Sjakkalle (Check!) 12:46, 12 June 2007 (UTC)
- Delete- Promotion of violence against specific people should be avoided on Wikipedia- there are anti monarchy/republican userboxes avaliable without violence that editors can use if they so wish. Astrotrain 12:15, 12 June 2007 (UTC)

- Delete inciting violence in userboxes is not a good idea. "This user opposes monarchy" would be fine, but this isn't. Hut 8.5 15:49, 12 June 2007 (UTC)

- Comment Again, it doesn't incite violence just admiration for people who executed the parasites in question. One Night In Hackney303 15:51, 12 June 2007 (UTC)

- Comment I can't believe the fuss being made over this. The guillotine, although recently in use as pointed out by Sjakkalle, obviously in the context of the monarchy refers to the French Revolution. It's a joke (and I think it's funny), and strikes me as very British in tone. Sometimes the only way for the little guy to strike back is through humour. I think the British monarchy can take it.
