User page has a ton of animated gifs, real bandwidth hog, and, CPU intensive. Wikipedia is not your webhost, WP:SOAP, and, possibly WP:POINT apply.

User:Mindys12345 was asked nicely to clean it up, and, instead, chose to put up a message refusing to fix it, until the user's name-change is approved. [1]

• Withdraw, I'm OK with withdrawing it, in that case. Besides, after User:Mindys12345 stopped edit-warring over the tags, they did clean it up. I've no idea how to close these, however. --SXT4 23:37, 19 July 2007 (UTC)

Comment - How about removing all animations with a warning note not to add them back? Recalling my past experience with this user, I've failed couple of times in the past making this user understand how Wiki works and all. This user doesn't want to go by Wiki norms, policies and procedures. So, if the user keep on adding back animations, we can then delete with no second thought. Gnanapiti 22:14, 19 July 2007 (UTC)

We've been through the same, on the user's talk page, but, I'd be happy to try it on the user page, too. However, the user has already removed the MfD tags 2-3 times as of this writing, so, I have my doubts that simply removing all those gifs will accomplish anything... --SXT4 22:16, 19 July 2007 (UTC)

• This user certainly has a loose link with wikinorms, but he does make some good edits. I think this material should be removed from his user page and he be warned that if he adds it back he will be blocked for a while. If he then puts it back, he should be blocked for a longer period and so on until he gets the message or is permanently blocked. It is not appropriate to delete his user page. I suggest withdrawing this nomination and taking the matter to the Wikipedia:Administrators' noticeboard. Of course if this is all about the slowness in approving a user's name change, then the change should be done quickly. --Bduke 22:39, 19 July 2007 (UTC)

• Keep Bandwidth is not a major issue, and plenty of people have stylized userpages with pictures they find interesting (including me). If it is enough pictures to crash a browser then perhaps we should limit it, but at present it seems fine. --TeaDrinker 23:29, 19 July 2007 (UTC)

• You may want to go through the page history and have a look at what was there before and see if it would be okay to restor. I think some editors have nothing better to do other than to pick on good contributors who remove hundreds of spam links and vandalism and then reward them for their hard work by doing this. Recalling my past experiances with gnanpatiti, you like to undo other peoples edits without discussing it first on the talk page for that article, then when your changes are undone, you complain that it wasn't discussed first on the article talk page. Also you mentioned that all images should be removed, I am allowed to have a couple or maybe a bit more. If you remove them all from my talk page then it would be unfair as other users have this material on their talk page. I have removed heaps, even some of the userboxes like recent changes patrol and new page patrol and some of the misc australian userboxes as well. I think that this may have something to do with my reverts to Tourism in India which is now at its best, even though its still crap. This is after it was cleaned up by Lara Bran and my good self. Three of four more articles have come out of that one article. So as for gnanpati this is you chance for some payback. MI-5 शान्ति शान्ति এই সভ্যজন অসমৰ

Comment Please, No personal attacks. Had you been civil about it, and discussed it with me, instead of removing my comment, reverting my edits, and inserting some sorta threat towards WP:CHU, your page probably wouldn't have gone to MfD. The userboxes weren't an issue, by the way, the twenty-nine giant animated gifs were, as I had initially said at your talk [2]. We can continue this discussion at your talk or mine, if you wish.
