[edit] User:LaraLove/Bathrobe Cabal
This page serves no purpose, and is complete and utter nonsense. Maybe if it actually did something to help the encyclopedia... I doubt that can be done with admin only cliques though. I think it should be deleted, per WP:UP#NOT, WP:NOT#USER, and WP:NOT#WEBSPACE· AndonicO Hail! 00:07, 6 January 2008 (UTC)
- Dude, these cabals are all over the place. User:Ryulong/Penguin Cabal, and User:Arknascar44/Love Cabal. —BoL 00:16, 6 January 2008 (UTC)
- Last time I checked, anyone could be a penguin or feel love, not just admins. I think that's AO's point. — Dihydrogen Monoxide 00:23, 6 January 2008 (UTC)
- The Penguin Cabal can be regarded as a gallery of penguin images, which can be linked to by anyone who likes penguins; the Love Cabal maybe as a signature page or something; the BRC more of a "we are above you" page, full of irrelevant nonsense. And to reply to Sean below, no, humor is not illegal, it is enjoyed by everyone (myself included), as long as it still helps out in some way, and doesn't blatantly violate userpage policy. · AndonicO Hail! 00:49, 6 January 2008 (UTC)

- Keep. Good lord, is humor illegal? Sean William @ 00:40, 6 January 2008 (UTC)
- Keep Your cursory opinion that it does not help it frankly wrong. This is a heavily viewed page due to the uniqueness and the obvious silliness. Since its inception, it has inspired numerous non-admin users to request adoption, ask for wiki-related advice on article writing and policy issues. It has even inspired editors to dedicate more time to the project in order to work towards adminship. Why? This 'cabal' shows that administrators are normal people. We joke, we play, and we make relationships with each other. Admins are not to be feared, and should be challenged and treated like anyone else, and this page demonstrates to new and established users that this group of admins is extremely approachable, as are most people with the bit. This page has done more good than harm. the_undertow talk 00:56, 6 January 2008 (UTC) www.bathrobecabal.org
- Keep I haven't seen this kind of hatin' since the SLG wars :( Man i miss the SLG. -Nard 01:12, 6 January 2008 (UTC)
- Keep - C'mon. It's harmless humor for admins who do a lot of good work. Better that admins let off stress by being goofy in bathrobes then by blocking Jimbo or whatever. Keilanatalk(recall) 01:13, 6 January 2008 (UTC)
- Biased Keep AdonicO - Thre are eight pictires on this page. Five are admins. Three are not (well I guarantee at least 1 is not, as he beats hell out of my laptops but doesn't edit!!). This is not a "cabal". WP:COMMUNITY over WP:ENC. We can have a community without Wikipedia. We can't have Wikipedia without a community. It does no harm, it will save no money by being deleted, and per The_Undertow if just one editor helps us out as a result it's a net positive. Pedro : Chat 01:16, 6 January 2008 (UTC)
- Merge and redirect, I mean, *hic* Keep. bibliomaniac15 01:34, 6 January 2008 (UTC)
- Keep or Lara wasted money on the domain. —BoL 02:11, 6 January 2008 (UTC)
- Mental note. Next time an article I like is likely to get deleted at AfD, I'll buy a domain that redirects to it. Then threaten to sue on the basis of me losing money if the article is deleted. — Dihydrogen Monoxide 02:20, 6 January 2008 (UTC)
- You just got blacklisted from the cabal, Andonic0... :p No seriously, these guys are basically all experienced editors/admins who have contributed to the encyclopedia. They aren't in the myspace crowd, and are hardly likely to focus on editing that page. The policies and guidelines you cited are to prevent people from purely editing their userspace, not doing anything positive for wikipedia, and wasting everyone's time trying to see "whose userpage is better". If you honestly think hard-working administrators are idiotic morons with 99% of their edits trying to beautify their userpage then sure, delete it. But I hardly think that applies in this case, so keep. — DarkFalls talk 02:36, 6 January 2008 (UTC)
- Delete per nom. It is, as said, complete nonsense. — $PЯINGεrαgђ 03:48 6 January 2008 (UTC)

- What about your Friends list and Andonic0's Autograph Book? How is nonsense applied unilaterally and why is policy applicable to a cabal page, but not those of your own design? The truly honorable thing would be for both of you to list your respective entries in MfD as well, and let the editors decide. the_undertow talk 04:01, 6 January 2008 (UTC)
- STRONG Keep - It's a joke page on my user space. And, as for the thought that we're better than others or something, I think editors who edit naked are above those of us that edit in bathrobes, but maybe that's just me. Lara❤Love 05:09, 6 January 2008 (UTC)
- Keep - Userspace joke. Entertaining one, at that. If they were a real cabal, deleting this page wouldn't stop them, anyway. Antelan talk 05:15, 6 January 2008 (UTC)

- Comment Well, I guess that's what Pschemp meant when she opposed my RFA: "I'm not thrilled with the inflexible interpretation of policy and general policeman attitude." I assume I'm not allowed to close an MFD I started (even though it's closed per WP:SNOW), so I'll just wait... · AndonicO Hail! 12:01, 6 January 2008 (UTC)
