[edit] User:John C. Huang
This user page is blatant original research. Ordinarily I would cut a user some slack on his user page. But this user persistently posts his pet theory around Wikipedia, and its presence on his user page negates the argument that there is no place for OR on Wikipedia. —teb728 t c 01:20, 8 June 2008 (UTC)
- Speedy keep WP:NOR only applies to the article space. Most of our content in the project and user namespaces would likely be considered original research. -- Ned Scott 05:55, 8 June 2008 (UTC)

- Comment – It is certainly not true that NOR applies only to article space: Wikipedia:Talk page guidelines#Maintain Wikipedia policy applies it explicitly to talk pages. Other than the help desk and the reference desk, I am not aware of much OR of this kind in project or user space. Perhaps I didn’t express it well in my initial post, but the problem with this user is that he has done nothing but post OR. —teb728 t c 07:07, 8 June 2008 (UTC)
- WP:NOR does not say anywhere that it doesn't apply to userspace, and it doesn't limit its scope anywhere. --Enric Naval (talk) 17:03, 8 June 2008 (UTC)
- I've seen long standing consensus (as well as it being common sense) that WP:NOR is not meant to be seen in the same light on project pages as it is in the article space. It's a big giant "no duh" situation. Like I said, the vasty majority of our content in user and project namespace would be considered OR by WP:NOR. Let's not be silly here. -- Ned Scott 06:21, 10 June 2008 (UTC)
- Also, this: Wikipedia talk:Talk page guidelines/Archive 2#policies?. -- Ned Scott 06:32, 10 June 2008 (UTC)

- Keep - there is nothing of major concern here, it is not an article mainspace, and many userpages are filled with WP:OR and it isn't something that would show up using a standard search. His prior history of editing primarily WP:OR has little relevance on deleting a users page. If anything, it would be cleaner to use something like {{Template:Userpage}}. - Keep This is userspace, so WP:NOR does not apply here. As stated above, many userpages contain original research about Wikipedia; even some userboxes state original thought. A {{Userpage}} would clear up any confusion. Juliancolton Tropical Cyclone 16:33, 8 June 2008 (UTC)
- Keep - The best way of dealing with this contributor's talk page disruptions is trough wp:Administrator intervention against vandalism. - DVdm (talk) 16:53, 8 June 2008 (UTC)

- Comment – I would be happy to keep this user page if AIV were effective here. A report there was removed after 45 minutes, perhaps in the mistaken belief that NOR doesn’t apply to talk pages. —teb728 t c 19:30, 8 June 2008 (UTC)
- Comment - I think the report was removed for stale because after a last warning there was no article talk page disruption incident anymore. Of course next time there will be, and then someone can file for talk page disruption with wp:NOR after last warning. Cheers, DVdm (talk) 08:47, 9 June 2008 (UTC)

- Not at this point The user is active, let's see how the situation evolves. The page is not really harmful, though a notice may be a good idea. If the user is happy with this userpage, then we just have to hope that constructive contributions will follow and he'll reconsider the content at some point. If it's getting out of hands and it's used for soap boxing, then deletion would be appropriate. Cenarium (talk) 00:54, 10 June 2008 (UTC)
- Comment - Thanks for let me keep my userpage. From now on, I will just edit my userpage until I have my idea published by some formal magazine. Recently, I just found out a problem in the Michelson-Morley experiment. That problem caused null result. I believe that all the major components are ready to remove Lorentz transformation. I will use my userpage to report them, step by step. John C. Huang (talk) 03:15, 10 June 2008 (UTC)
- Withdraw nomination – I am satisfied with the user’s comment above. His agreement not to post his theory except on his user page resolves the reason for my nomination. I request that the MfD be closed. —teb728 t c 09:32, 10 June 2008 (UTC)
