This user has made no main space contributions whatsoever and this page looks like a web profile page, which is not allowed. Seraphim Whipp 23:14, 12 September 2007 (UTC)

- Delete because this userpage is setup as a web profile. Just because the user has not edited anything else besides his userpage is not a reason to delete it in my opinion though.--SJP 01:10, 13 September 2007 (UTC)
- Comment. What I meant by them having no mainspace contributions is that they're probably not here to edit wikipedia. I read somewhere (cannot remember where for the life of me) that it's good as a general rule of thumb, to see in the contribs if the user has made any mainspace contributions in their first 50 edits so you can detemine their intentions for being here. - A user's contributions should be taken into account, IMO; if they're actually here to contribute, we should give them some leeway in their userspace. The user has made a few mainspace contribs in the past couple of days, so please give him the benefit of the doubt and encourage him to contribute, rather than biting him by nominating this page for deletion. - You say if they're here to contribute but there was no evidence of that at all (until today where he made 1 mainspace edit). To be perfectly blunt, your tone hints that you think we're all trying to be deliberately bitey or something. I came across this user page, checked their contribs and noted it resembled (to me), a web profile. They have been here since the 2nd of June and had made no mainspace edits until today. If I see that someone has been here a couple of months (in this user's case, 4 months) and designed a web profile-looking page whilst making no mainspace edits, then I will question why someone is here. Are they here just to make a web profile to refer their friends to? That was my reasoning for nominating this page. No one is trying to be some sort of big bad here, and personally, I go out of my way to be nice to newbies or to help people out if I can. Seraphim Whipp 01:08, 16 September 2007 (UTC)
- Fair enough, I appreciate that you acted in good faith, and it's true that the user had made no mainspace contributions at the time of the nomination. However, as the user has begun to contribute, the circumstances have changed, and so I ask you to consider withdrawing the nom. WaltonOne 13:33, 16 September 2007 (UTC)

- Please read my essay Wikipedia:Editors matter. The section headed "Policy is not a trump card" is particularly relevant here. Rather than just reeling off references to policy pages, consider whether this deletion will actually benefit Wikipedia. It won't; indeed the deletion may harm Wikipedia by driving the user away. - Keep The relevant threshold for deletion in WP:USERPAGE is "Excessive personal information (more than a couple of pages) unrelated to Wikipedia." This page doesn't step over that line in my opinion. --Alksub 21:43, 14 September 2007 (UTC)

- Strong Keep per Acalamari, per WP:BITE, and per the reasoning articulated in my essay Wikipedia:Editors matter. Judging from his contributions, this user is starting to contribute to Wikipedia; threatening his userpage with deletion is a textbook case of biting a newbie. Unlike some, there's no evidence that this user is intending to abuse their userspace as a free webhost. WaltonOne 17:31, 15 September 2007 (UTC)
- Keep per Walton. We should only delete user pages when they contain excessive amounts of information totally unrelated to Wikipedia, and the user has not made any other contributions outside their own user space and is obviously not here to contribute to the project but to abuse Wikipedia as a free webhost. This userpage looks in no way excessive to me (it is a two-sentence description of the user, a sandbox, and some miscellaneous things), and the user has even made an edit to the article namespace today. - Comment. I am the original nominator for this deletion and my reasons for deletion were reasonable and in good faith, however, the situation has changed, making my original rationale for deletion invalid (i.e. editor designed a web-pofile and made no mainspace edits, which isn't allowed by WP:NOT#MYSPACE but has now made some contributions, making this page a userpage as opposed to a web-profile). In line with the recent changes, I withdraw my delete vote inherent in the nomination, and change it to keep. Seraphim Whipp 10:50, 17 September 2007 (UTC)
