Wikipedia:Miscellany for deletion/User:Garry Denke

The result of the debate was keep. Yes, I know that this debate hasn't run its full course, and that the nominating admin usually doesn't close the debate. However, I'm satisfied with the actions taken by the user, which removes the ambiguity of distinguishing between an article and user page, and there was a clear consensus to keep. Also, Wikipedia would not be served by letting this debate run any longer. Thus, I'm closing this as a keep. Thanks! Flcelloguy (A note?) 00:16, 10 January 2006 (UTC)
[edit] User:Garry Denke
The user page contains a faux article of the same name as the user; it has confused at least one person already, mistaking it for a genuine article (the article Garry Denke was deleted earlier). The user has not contributed in over a week. At the very least, the top part, which resembles an article, should be removed. Flcelloguy (A note?) 18:20, 8 January 2006 (UTC)
- Keep. Flcelloguy (A note?) 00:16, 10 January 2006 (UTC)
- Keep. We give latitude given to users to choose how to use their userspace, and only intervene if there is a serious problem. Here I think the bogus April Fool article below ought to give people enough warning, especially given the page is in the user space. David | Talk 20:43, 8 January 2006 (UTC)
- Keep A lot of people have userpages that look like real articles. This page is a little confusing, but it's not a huge problem. Discuss it with the user instead (suggest putting {{userpage}} at the top or something). Ashibaka tock 22:38, 8 January 2006 (UTC)
- Keep. Ficelloguy discriminated against my ancestor, Doctor Garry Whilhelm Denke (1622-1699), and now Ficelloguy has publically discriminated against different name Mr. Garry William Denke, Sr. (1955-____), myself. April Fool's Day, my birthday, is a legal day in any U.S. Court of Law, and lawsuits filed on April Fool days, my birthdays, are legal filing days in any U.S. Court of Law. I do not discriminate against Ficelloguy, nor anyone's ancestors, so why does Ficelloguy discriminate against me and mine? International Law and U.S. Law rule over this matter, as they do in all such legal matters. Let us exercise some user space WikiLove and forget the matter by honoring both independent Keep votes above. Wikipedia supporters (and fundraisers) will be pleased that we did. - I beg your pardon? I have not discriminated against anyone and don't intend to do so. The reason I nominated this page for deletion was because someone thought that this was an actual article and was confused. We've had some precedent for this before, deleting user pages that copy versions of genuine articles. In no way am I discriminating against either the user or the subject. (The user has not contributed since last week.) Thanks! Flcelloguy (A note?) 00:07, 9 January 2006 (UTC)
Have you nominated every Wikipedia user for deletion and every Wikipedia user's page for deletion who has not contributed since last week? I have on file a copy of every Wikipedia user's page and history so it would be in your best interest to tell the truth here. Mr. Garry William Denke, Sr., Attorney-In-Fact

- No; the reason I nominated your user page for deletion was because someone mistakenly thought your page was an article. Your user name is the same as the title of the "article" on your user page, so that's why the person was confused. Would you mind moving that text to the bottom of the page or somewhere below the top so that it is apparant that the page is not a Wikipedia article? That's my only concern; I could really care less about what the content is. All my concern is is that your user page could (and has) been misidentified as an article. Also, by the way, you can sign your comments with four tildes (~~~~); this automatically places your username and date after your comments. Finally, please refrain from making any threats. Thanks for yoru understanding! Flcelloguy (A note?) 01:42, 9 January 2006 (UTC)

My name is Mr. Garry William Denke, Sr. (1955-____), why do you say my name is the same as Doctor Garry Whilhelm Denke (1622-1699) when it is not the same. I am alive, the Doctor is dead. I am not a Doctor, I am a geologist and a geophysicist. Where is the confusion? Thanks!

ps. I did not make a threat, I only advised you that
it would be in your best interest to tell the truth here.
This is a Wilts and Hants Times article, not a Wikipedia article. has been added to the top of Mr. Garry William Denke, Sr.'s user page in Bold Text per your request to differentiate between a dead Doctor Garry Whilhelm Denke (April 19, 1622 - February 19, 1699) and a live Non-Doctor geologist and geophysicist Mr. Garry William Denke (April 1, 1955 - _____________). Is Bold Text Bold enough? Thanks!

ps. I did move text further down from the top so that
it is apparant that the page is not a Wikipedia article.

- Thank you very much, and I apologize for any misunderstanding that may have occured. I've closed this MfD as a keep and removed the MfD notice from your user page (see above). Thanks a lot! Flcelloguy (A note?) 00:16, 10 January 2006 (UTC)
Keep: With the addition of the "Userpage" template, it's clear that this is not an article. --Justin Eiler 13:59, 9 January 2006 (UTC)
