The result of the debate was delete, it's pretty clear. No need to continue the bloodbath. Defender 911 is also counselled not to recreate any "WikiResource" pages on the basis that there is clear consensus of established, experienced and uninvovled editors, both here and on current and previous versions of User talk:Defender 911, that they are a) generally-pointless, b) not in the interests of compiling an encyclopedia, c) promoting pointless and excessive bureaucracy, and d) redundant to normal, better-watched 'mainstream services'. [edit] User:Defender 911/WikiResource/Feeling Upset?
Misguided play-acting. Picture this: Burnt out Wikipedian decides to quietly leave; harrassed user decides to retire... along come the Wikiresource Responsemen, horns blaring, telling them to 'pleeease return!' We are first and foremost volunteers; we have the right to become active or inactive in our own time. A violation of common courtesy to badger a retired user to return. Even requesting unprotection for a harrassed ex-admin's page, apparently to cajole him into returning to a place where he no longer feels safe. Delete. ~ Riana ⁂ 19:40, 9 August 2007 (UTC)
Keep --This page has and will serve as a forum for discussion and allow aid for troubled Wikipedians (though I hate the term) --Defender 911 (Leave a message!) 19:44, 9 August 2007 (UTC)It seems everything else was deleted. It doesn't matter entirely at this point. --Defender 911 (Leave a message!) 21:31, 9 August 2007 (UTC)- Delete - colossal misunderstanding of how these things work. Just read meatball:GoodBye and nuke this. Moreschi Talk 19:44, 9 August 2007 (UTC)
- Delete as per nom, people can leave if they want, SqueakBox 19:45, 9 August 2007 (UTC)
- Delete - disruptive and pointless exercise - Alison ☺ 19:46, 9 August 2007 (UTC)
- Delete - I like the idea but this page is misguided. I am 100% in supporting wikipedias who are burnt out and feel the need to leave as editors are our most valuable resource however i feel this page, while having the best of efforts, will do little to help. Chrislk02 (Chris Kreider) 19:46, 9 August 2007 (UTC)
- Delete This is the last thing users who leave want... someone begging them to come back! How ridiculous! If I wanted to leave, I'd leave and not expect to be hounded by users questioning why I'd left and if I was going to come back. Granted this page is in good faith, I think it serves no purpose here. Majorly (talk) 19:47, 9 August 2007 (UTC)
- Delete. Users shouldn't be pestered to stay if that's not their intention. --Kbdank71 19:48, 9 August 2007 (UTC)
- Delete Normally user space is given wide leeway, but this affects users who may have never been in that user space, ie., editors who have left. Probably well-intentioned, but certainly misguided. - Crockspot 19:49, 9 August 2007 (UTC)
- Delete, not appropriate or acceptable. Andre (talk) 19:55, 9 August 2007 (UTC)
- Delete, not good for purpose, unhelpful, per nom really. GDonato (talk) 19:57, 9 August 2007 (UTC)
- Delete, sometimes it is good for people to leave for a while. I am sure this page means well, but it is better to let some people go in peace. Kusma (talk) 19:58, 9 August 2007 (UTC)
- Delete per Riana. ~ Wikihermit 20:23, 9 August 2007 (UTC)
- Comment And what about Wikipedia:Stress alerts? It is sort of the same thing... And it´s still there... ♠TomasBat 20:29, 9 August 2007 (UTC)
- Stress alerts is for users to list themselves, should they be feeling down. It's a call for help or communication. This page is more like... the sunshine brigade. ~ Riana ⁂ 20:32, 9 August 2007 (UTC)
- Delete - Sounds like Stress Alerts. Miranda 21:01, 9 August 2007 (UTC)
- Immediate Delete - Harrasing other editors, for any reason, especially those who left, is unconscionable and should not be tolerated. Smokizzy (talk) 02:29, 10 August 2007 (UTC)
