Wikipedia:Miscellany for deletion/Assyrian related political userboxes

I think both of these userboxes advocate a political view and are not in any way helpful in assisting wikipedia. This is not the purpose of userboxes. I feel they can be speedy deleted as such user boxes were in the past but on ANB/I a MfD was suggested instead.

- Keep There are many other templates like this and I am pretty sure it is not a violation of any policies.--James, La gloria è a dio 13:32, 12 June 2007 (UTC)
- Keep I think there's precedent to keep based on a recent MFD for another Husond userbox about Basque separatism. YechielMan 13:56, 12 June 2007 (UTC)
- Strong Keep Declaring a POV or stance is productive and informative. Furthermore, it's on the userspace.--Húsönd 13:58, 12 June 2007 (UTC)
- Keep-not sure why these are singled out, but userboxes declaring one's political views are very normal. I don't see the soapbox provision as applicable: these aren't trying to convince anyone of the correctness of anything, merely declaring how the user posting them feels.--Fyre2387 (talk • contribs) 15:15, 12 June 2007 (UTC)
- Keep *sigh* We probably spend far too much time worrying about userboxes but these are well within the accepted norms for POV style boxes. Spartaz Humbug! 15:18, 12 June 2007 (UTC)
- Delete per the "no polemical statements" of WP:USER and per previous userbox discussions. If one goes, they all go. Tarc 19:19, 12 June 2007 (UTC)
- Keep - Almost no userboxes help assist Wikipedia. However, they are in use on userpages (obviously), and they just show about the user, their likes and dislikes, views, etc. Political userboxes are very common. Cool Bluetalk to me 20:22, 12 June 2007 (UTC)
- Keep per previous discussion, and considered okay for a political userbox. bibliomaniac15 Join or die! 01:25, 13 June 2007 (UTC)
- Keep - it has been up in my userpage for more then a year and no one has told me that it is bothering them until this. This is a on-going war this user, white cat, has been waging on Assyrian and Kurdish projects (See his recent edits.) Whats funny is that he of course doesn't nominate the "Northern Cyprus" userboxes for deletion, but picks and chooses whats best for his views. Chaldean 01:58, 13 June 2007 (UTC)
- I've been quite familiar with his anti-Kurdish edits, but that doesnt' make this particular deletion discussion any less proper.. If you know of others that should be brought up for deletion, then by all means enter them into MfD here for consideration. Tarc 14:27, 13 June 2007 (UTC)
- Delete divisive and unhelpful. Kamryn Matika 12:51, 13 June 2007 (UTC)
- Keep, per Húsönd. Eddie 21:25, 13 June 2007 (UTC)
- Keep not divisive, unless you are an imperialist. Every ethnic group aspires for a homeland. -N 23:45, 13 June 2007 (UTC)
- Keep. When an editor feels about a political issue strongly enough to use such a userbox, it helps Wikipedia if his views, and possible related biases, are public. Digwuren 04:41, 15 June 2007 (UTC)
- Keep. Userspace userboxes per WP:GUS, if you don't like them don't use them. — xaosflux Talk 15:26, 16 June 2007 (UTC)
- Strong keep Especially since they're in userspace. hmwith talk 15:10, 17 June 2007 (UTC)
