I'm sorry, but you've not been impartial. Ok, you are a Prince fanatic. Debate with a fanatic is very boring... Well, BBGW is a song by Prince... If Prince released Hey Jude, please, you could change too...

[edit] {{Transformers-stub}}
Hello. I notice that you added {{Transformers-stub}} to the stub types page. Note that the top of the page states:
"To avoid unnecessary redirects and reverts, please discuss all new stubs at Wikipedia:WikiProject Stub sorting/Criteria prior to creation of new stubs and placement in articles or tables."
I have therefore moved the entry to the relevant location. Feel free to discuss it there.

[edit] Candy
This edit seems to have accidentally ended up deleting the article you were trying to move, and leaving behind a redirect loop. I have restored the old article at Candy (Koda Kumi song) but it needs to be moved by an administrator to the preferred title of Candy (Kumi Koda song). --Russ Blau (talk) 18:40, 23 February 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Prince
Hey MistaTee, just wanted to draw your attention to the Prince article, specifically the "Trivia" section regarding the mention of numbers in his lyrics. I notice you removed the section as "meaningless"... I happen to agree with you and there is a user who insists on re-adding it to the article. I've reverted it three times now but of course the user is just a bunch of IP addresses, which basically gives him (her?) the option of reverting it as many times as he wants without the 3RR rule affecting him and leaving notes on the user talk page(s) doesn't help. I've placed comments in the Prince Talk Page so I figured I'd let you know in case you wanted to add to the discussion. I don't wanna get in a big revert war with this person and I'm thinking maybe if there is at least one other editor keeping their eye on this it could discourage the user from putting this info back in the article repeatedly. Anyhoo, if you feel like dealing with it, by all means, add to the conversation. Later! -- eo 12:16, 5 April 2006 (UTC)
[edit] License tagging for Image:Cameo RMWB.jpg
Thanks for uploading Image:Cameo RMWB.jpg. Wikipedia gets thousands of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.
For more information on using images, see the following pages:
This is an automated notice by OrphanBot. If you need help on selecting a tag to use, or in adding the tag to the image description, feel free to post a message at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. 20:05, 10 August 2006 (UTC)
[edit] re: Thieves
Hmmmm, I thought "in" should be lower-case... isn't it a preposition? I've seen it with a small "i" in a bunch of places. I can't really say I'm 100% sure on it tho, so if you want to move it back that works for me. -- eo 14:11, 20 August 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Transformers Infobox
Hi there. I know you've seen my pages but in case you aren't aware I've actually signed on to the Transformers Project, so it's a pleasure to be able to chat with a fellow fan. The reason I wanted to speak with you is I've made a NEW Transformers Template/Infobox to replace our current one. I know D-Boy is a fan of a small and simple box but the fact is if you compare it to the ones used elsewhere on Wiki (eg Spider-Man) it just looks unprofessional (not that it's poorly done, I just thought it could be better). However I wanted to make any necessary changes and get the okay from Project members so please leave a comment on the TFProject Dicsussion Page. Cheers Daniel Guardian 02:49, 30 August 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Is it necessary to put a big template on Manic Monday
To be honest I never liked those large templates, because in case of songs of medium importance like Manic Monday, the template is about 1/3 of the entire page. To make matters worse, Prince only wrote it so it would require a template for the Bangles as well because they are more important and then half the page is just a template. So please reconsider, because the usefulness of those templates is extremely limited and they are huge. If people want to know the other songs you have categories, links to Prince etc. The same applies to songs like Nothing Compares 2 U etc.KittenKlub 09:34, 15 September 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Cleanup
Hi,
Thanks for your work in cleaning up typos and suchlike on pages. I noticed, though, that you did cleanup on Wikipedia talk:Naming conventions (common names)/Archive 01 and Wikipedia talk:Naming conventions (names and titles)/Archive 6. These pages are records of past debate, and shouldn't really be edited unless necessary; I don't think that typos on archived talk pages do any harm, and I think it's better to leave the pages as an accurate record of the debate, rather than try to correct them (even if it's just for typos).
I've reverted the changes for now - if you think that cleanup on these pages is beneficial, please do get back to me. TSP 23:30, 30 September 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Orphaned fair use image (Image:Puppet Master DVD.jpg)
Thanks for uploading Image:Puppet Master DVD.jpg. I notice the 'image' page currently specifies that the image is unlicensed for use on Wikipedia and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable under fair use (see our fair use policy).
If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any fair use images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Fritz S. (Talk) 14:45, 26 November 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Linking to illegally published lyrics
Please stop reverting the removal of the lyrics link from Little Red Corvette without discussion. Have your read Wikipedia:Copyrights#Linking to copyrighted works (an official policy of Wikipedia)? Specifically:
- If you know that an external Web site is carrying a work in violation of the creator's copyright, please don't link to that copy of the work. Knowingly and intentionally directing others to a site that violates copyright has been considered a form of contributory infringement in the United States (Intellectual Reserve v. Utah Lighthouse Ministry).
I am going to remove the link to the lyrics again. If you put them back without providing some rationale at Talk:Little Red Corvette for why the policy doesn't apply, you will be reported at Wikipedia:Copyright problems and possibly blocked from editing if you continue to add this link. Thanks. Mike Dillon 16:16, 17 December 2006 (UTC)
- I just noticed that you are doing this on dozens of Prince articles, so I am going to ask for a copyright violation check of your actions at Wikipedia:Copyright problems. Mike Dillon 16:20, 17 December 2006 (UTC)
-
- The listing is at Wikipedia:Copyright problems/2006 December 17/Articles if you want to comment. Mike Dillon 16:30, 17 December 2006 (UTC)
Sorry if you think I am singling you out. To the degree that this is a problem with other articles, they should be removed from them as well, assuming the site with the lyrics does not have permission from the artist. I'm only dealing with the DTT links because I saw your revert of User:LuciferMorgan's removal and your subsequent reverts of my removals.
I did read through your site, including http://www.dtt-lyrics.com/about.html and http://www.dtt-lyrics.com/open_letter.html. Nowhere on your site do you give evidence of having Prince or the copyright holders' permission. In fact, you specifically say that you don't have permission. I don't think that your fair use arguments would stand up to legal scrutiny, but I am not a lawyer.
All of this being said, your reasoning about whether what you're doing is or is not infringement seems flawed. It would be like me saying that publishing a version of someone's speech as I heard it is not copyright infringement because I didn't mechanically copy the actual written version of the speech. Or that copying a picture by drawing it instead of photocopying it is not infringement. Unfortunately, I don't think the law is on your side here, as has been shown by what happens in court when other artists produce their own versions of an artist's song without permission. If you are not directly infringing copyright (which I believe you are), you are at least producing a derivative work without permission. I hope this clarifies my position on this issue. I believe this explains Wikipedia's position as well, but I can't speak for the Wikimedia Foundation.
Once again, please don't feel like I'm singling you out. I'm just attempting to deal with the issue at hand in order to improve Wikipedia as an encyclopedia, since avoiding legal threats is part of that improvement. Mike Dillon 17:28, 17 December 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Under the Cherry Moon
Hello MistaTee,
I'm partly translating the article Under the Cherry Moon for the Dutch language Wikipedia. I have a few questions about the source off some figures:
- "Filmed with a budget of about $12 million"?
- "It only just managed to make back $10,090,429"?
- "and current figures stand at about $12.5 million"?
You also write that; "It was this commercial failure that saw the beginnings of Warner Brothers’ long-running feud with Prince." - Why this film? Batman had al lot of commercial success and ATWIAD started maybe some irritation at Warner Bros. HQ more than one year earlier. Or do you also have a source for this statement (by e.g. a WB executive)? I like to hear from you.
Thanks in advance,
Jeroenvrp 16:14, 3 April 2007 (UTC) (The self-proclaimed Prince-expert on nl.wikipedia.org)
- Oh wait, I see an anonymous user has put this info in the article. So forget what I've asked, unless you know the answers :-). Cheers, --Jeroenvrp 16:20, 3 April 2007 (UTC)
[edit] John Sacrimoni
I notice you placed a {{move}} tag at Talk:Johnny Sacrimoni, to get the article moved to "John Sacrimoni". This is only part of the page-moving process, so you now have two options: you can either complete the request, by noting it at WP:RM (instructions are given there), or, since John Sacrimoni is a red link, you can move the article yourself (see WP:MOVE for instructions). The WP:RM method takes longer, but is less contentious, since everyone has a chance to air their opinions before the move is made (if indeed it is agreed to make the move). I was about to list it at WP:RM myself, but I thought I'd lay the options before you first. --Stemonitis 15:35, 17 April 2007 (UTC)

I read your nots on episodes in quotes vs. italics. I am not aware of this. Is this official? If it is I will make the change. Please let me know, and I'll do what is the correct style from now on. user:mathewignash
[edit] Fair use rationale for Image:Cameo09a.JPG
Thanks for uploading Image:Cameo09a.JPG. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.
Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.
If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2007, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. (ESkog)(Talk) 03:49, 8 May 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Death in The Sopranos series
I noticed your proposal of making a new article to replace the AfD list. Being a fan of The Sopranos myself, I'd like to help contribute if I can. This new article must have images of the notable deaths that will be included. Also, there is a citation template for citing television programs that we can employ. I think my main contribution to this new article would probably be in referencing and verification; and I could also help revise prose along the way. But in any case, just keep me posted on the development. Thanks. Cliff smith 15:58, 13 June 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Camille (album)
A proposed deletion template has been added to the article Camille (album), suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but this article may not satisfy Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and the deletion notice should explain why (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}}
notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summary or on its talk page. Also, please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Even though removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, the article may still be deleted if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria or it can be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. If you agree with the deletion of the article, and you are the only person who has made substantial edits to the page, please add {{db-author}}
to the top of Camille (album). Mdsummermsw (talk) 20:39, 12 February 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Orphaned non-free image (Image:Time Shake single.jpg)
Thanks for uploading Image:Time Shake single.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).
Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. - AWeenieMan (talk) 02:23, 28 February 2008 (UTC)
