From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Hello, I am Mr. Nuvistor (aka Ryan Schweitzer), Wikipedia has been somewhat of a godsend for me, as it allows me to let out some of my bottled-up knowledge.
I'm located in Bismarck, North Dakota (a quite nice & clean city, but also a somewhat bland, middle-aged, and philistine place as well, IMHO), USA, and am quite a geek (not to sound full of myself), especially in the fields of:
- computers,
- telecommunications (especially anything to do with communications satellites, I'm also a satellite hobbyist, partaking in such things as Free-to-air reception via satellite),
- film,
- video,
- general electronics (both digital and analog), and
- broadcasting (the latter being one of my fields of employment, in public radio).
I also have a keen interest in music of all genres, especially:
- electronic music and all of its sub-genres & permutations, whether academic/early/musique concrete/experimental (Karlheinz Stockhausen, Pierre Schaeffer, John Cage, and Vladimir Ussachevsky), or for the dance floor (Luke Vibert, Kraftwerk, Carl Craig, Miguel Migs, Prefuse 73, 808 State, and Dabrye),
- jazz (from John Coltrane to Rahsaan Roland Kirk to Lee Morgan to Cannonball Adderley),
- funk and deep funk (aka rare groove) (from James Brown himself to anything DJ Keb Darge spins or DJ Shadow makes a compilation from :) ).
- and any classic country as well (i.e. Johnny Cash, Hank Williams, Sr., Merle Haggard, Roger Miller, etc.).
My other interests are experimental film (Bruce Conner, George Landow (aka Owen Land)) and video art (Bill Viola, and the late Nam June Paik), two fields I want to dabble a bit in, especially since I'm currently in the midst of putting together a video & film studio in my 2nd bedroom :).
I've also created articles/made edits under the anonymous IP addresses of 24.111.18.50 and also 24.220.250.150 (and other addresses beginning with the octets of 24.220.x.x, due to my internet service having dynamic IP addressing), because somehow Wikipedia always keeps logging me out/forgetting that I logged in...
And here's my geek code (dated as the geek code may be):
BEGIN GEEK CODE BLOCK

END GEEK CODE BLOCK
Now, if only I could edit other web pages on the web :).
